After the launch of the amazing bang for the buck RX 480, AMD has started to tease the upcoming “high-end” AMD RX 490 for 4K gaming. However, the launch of RX 480 targets the budget area of the market. Nvidia’s top dogs, the GTX 1070 and 1080, are still going strong with no competition from AMD’s side.

2025 cloud gaming trends are looking good, but it’s not all smooth yet. We break down what’s working, what’s not, and what comes next.
As someone who has been gaming nearly as long as gaming has been around (since the early 70's), you'd think I'd be against this. Having grown up with all the major platforms and the whole notion of physical ownership... but I'm not. i embrace this as it is a revolutionary convenience. And one i know for a fact many (especially here) have not even given the fair chance to use. I get it... i was there too. But now i have a new outlook on it. It really is a hell of an option if you just want to play with no commitments. By no means am i saying this should replace traditional gaming, its an option. And one that people should look at optimistically as a way to compliment traditional gaming. There is room for both to thrive.
With Sifu already on the handheld, Pocket Tactics asks Rematch creative director Pierre Tarno about bringing the new soccer game to Nintendo Switch 2.
Ah the 1080 competitor! Nice!
Waiting to see if they can competitively price one before I pull the trigger on a slimmer replacement for my 980 ti (downsizing to mini-ITX).
I really think the Scorpio's Polaris GPU will borrow more from the RX 490 than the RX 480. Bear in mind the chip IS NOT a desktop-grade video card, and therefore can't be a 1:1 equivalent. That being said, I still feel the Scorpio's graphics hardware will be based more on the Radeon RX 490 than the 480, especially given the RX 490 is focused more on 4K gaming.
This is the card I'm really waiting for.
