Why isn’t Rockstar Releasing any Story DLC for Grand Theft Auto V?

Rockstar, one of the biggest game developers in the world seem to be beating around the bush on story DLC. Why aren’t they making this DLC for fans to enjoy and instead adding more and more small installments on its multiplayer? While there could be many reasons why this could be, the main reason I feel they are not making story DLC is the simple fact they are making more money in its multiplayer than they will ever do in story DLC.

"...they are not making story DLC is the simple fact they are making more money in its multiplayer than they will ever do in story DLC..."

Sadly, that's the answer. The campaign dlcs of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption are amazing, we are not going to have the same experiece with GTA V.

Nah just think that R* has so much money that they dont need anymore.

I mean all they have to do is release a an new gun in GTA V and it will sells millions.

JackBNimble2863d ago (Edited 2863d ago )

You obviously don't know what GTA is about, and you don't need to spend real money in the game.

Just_looken
I get what you're saying , and ya it can be a grind fest , but on the flipside all the dlc has been free.

@fin

I know what you meant but of course on n4g the haters arrived.

He was referring to the new dlc and the last 2 packs were if you don't exploit/grind 24/7 or have a modded account you wont have full access to the content. Please dont disagree and tell me you can make 2 million in a hour on gta legit to buy 1 car and say that is fine.

Xavy2863d ago

lol the game is till selling beastly they dont care anymore hahhaha.

Summons752863d ago

That's true but people love microtransactions and the shark cards are wildly successful.

hay2862d ago

People buy those? Dayum.

theRedDragon2863d ago

I rather them putting all their man power on making GTA6 instead. IV to V took forever due to the 2 additional episodic stories of GTAIV. Hoping a PC version will be released at the same time in their next installment. If not, the Scorpio will be a nice alternative to finally getting to play GTA on console closed to maximum PC specs.

Hoffmann2863d ago

Consoles are never reaching maximum PC specs for more than a few months after their launch. Look how fast consoles of the past were outdated in comparison even to standard PC's build together short after the consoles launched.

Kabaneri2863d ago

The Volta GPUs in 2018 will leave these upgraded consoles in the dust.

just_looken2863d ago

I always like reading blind idiots on here with there new gpu's that cost them $500 a piece and are only using around 40% of there power because all there fancy pc games are not optimized properly.

Pc rarely gets games that use the full power of the current installed hardware that has been a fact for almost 7 years now.

If naughty dog sat down and fully used up a titan gpu with a intel 6 core @4.0ghz with 9gb gddr4 That would show how bad pc games are being utilized.

Fuck that game would be like 4k 120fps borderline real life looking.

Cost of realistic looking movement.

Rockstar need to learn that 12 years of work and 5000 employees doesn’t account for one persons opinion on the internet…

Oh and hundreds of millions of dollars in revanue to boot.

Lots of complaints about gta ever since the hd era started and yet it's bugger than its ever been with gta vi up to 180 million trailer views alone. The next game is shaping it be be another genre defining game

MetalGearsofWar39d ago

They already learned they dont have to actually make a great game

sagapo39d ago

The controls of RDR2 felt a but cluncky indeed, but it’s not as bad as some make it out to be. At no point did I get the feeling my experience with the game was held back or ruined by the controls.
But it can never hurt to optimize them a bit, sure.

Zhipp39d ago (Edited 39d ago )

I did accidentally beat someone to death a couple times. An unfortunate mistake but besides that I didn't have any problems with the controlls

jznrpg39d ago

Red Dead Redemption felt clunky at first but I got used to it fairly quick. I thought 2 was easier to control but it could be my experience with the first game helped me out. Great games

Profchaos39d ago

I wouldn't call Rockstar games characters clunky instead they feel like they move with Weight they are not twitch controls press x to instantly snap onto cover the characters instead move like a actor would ducking behind cover they are exposed while they get there.
