PS4 Exclusive God of War: Kratos’ Son Has a Tattoo Summoning Strength, Speed and Luck

A few days ago, God of War Creative Director Cory Barlog mentioned that Kratos’ son is the only one among the rather mismatched pair to actually understand ancient Norse. This is interesting, because the kid has a tattoo evidently written in runes across his arm and hand, and they have a meaning.

On top of that, Sony Santa Monica went on a Tweeting spree using the same runes, which DualShockers translated.

Has anyone found out what the runes above the passage after the first fight mean. When translating using futhark I ended up with the word "endrbua" which doesn't seem to be an existing word.

The only thing i got so far is that endrbua is an anagram for "bad rune".

Edit: It's also an anagram for "a burden" and "nu beard" :D

the "drbua" part is correct. I'm not sure about the first two runes, though. They seem to be "en" but I'm not 100% sure due to the foliage.

I couldn't find any translation for it in old norse or any similar language like icelandic.

Yeah I agree it could be some other runes in the beginning for example "Ltn" instead of "en" but there aren't many options and the one I've come up with so far didn't bring up any results either. I tried searching for the "drbua" part which is pretty much 100% right and didn't find anything useful either. Maybe it's 2 words instead of one.

His name is probably a Norse God, so they don't want to spoil it yet, I doubt he's actually Kratos' biological son, as he's Mediterranean and the boy is a Caucasian Ginger.

Can't wait to play this in normal and then hard mode. I have played all GOW on hard mode and i can admit there were some moments when i wanted to break the controller out of sheer frustration. some bosses were cheap but its very satisfying, especially in GOW 2 when doing more than 200 hit and press R2 (i think) it would trigger cyclone (forgot the name).
