Microsoft's recent announcement of Project Scorpio does pose the interesting question of if the new Xbox will allow Microsoft and Valve to work more closely together than ever before.
There are many exciting updates this month for Xbox. Copilot for Gaming is available now for early preview on mobile and will be coming to PC soon. Xbox PC app introduces a wave of new updates: Aggregated gaming library gives players quick access to games from Xbox, Game Pass, and other leading PC storefronts, and with publisher channels players can browse their favorite franchises. Updates for the Xbox Console includes customization for Most Recently Used, free-to-play benefits, Game Hubs, and dialog improvements for game saves.
"Players can now hide system apps, pin favorites to the list, and reduce the number of tiles displayed. This update is part of our ongoing effort to make Home more personal, flexible, and responsive to feedback."
This is welcomed, i like a less cluttered home screen.
Gotta be a slow news day when a 18 hours and 3 comments (now 4)makes it to the front page🤷🏿
.
Well anything that adds and help gamers is a good thing even if some don’t need it there’ll be more that will use it.
The PlayStation Mid-Year Deals promotion has a bunch of games worth checking out that are priced at $4.99 or below.
The Nintendo Switch 2 has proved to be a success the world over, however, one nation which is particularly keen on the Nintendo’s latest platform is naturally Japan. Recent sales data has shown that…
yeah nothing is gonna dethrone nintendo in japan, especially if there's a handheld involved.
I guess the resistance against always online and digital only consoles is BS. The people have voted with their wallets.
I remember the early days of Steam. It didn't work to good. Activation issues and patch problems with games like Half Life 2 and counter Strike... but it got better. It just took time and effort and people reporting things to Valve to fix.
I like to believe they have been working on half life 3 all this time but I'm inclined to believe they have been refining their steam box / os. If they would put their differences aside, Valve and MS could potentially turn every xb1 into a cheap steam box and they could both make some serious coin.
So this could mean valve is going to team up with Ms to make a steambox
I don't think steam will come to Xbox brand , what I think the interview with phill means is that they approached steam bosses to help then understand how to make the Windows store a better experience rather than steam coming to Xbox
Windows store is not well treated by users and many people don't buy games on there , project Scorpio is not just one new console , its an idea of connecting devices under one platform - Xbox live and allowing people to have a choice on what they way play , how they play.
That's my reading from the article anyway , not steam coming Xbox , but working with them to creat a better market for Windows store in the gaming industry.
Now this is interesting.
