A writer for Warp Zoned, and longtime fan of Resident Evil, describes his experience with the RE7 teaser demo. Does it feel like a valid part of the series?
Even as the company sets out to overhaul the very definition of Xbox, cuts at its studios risk creating a negative image reminiscent of EA's worst era
I appreciate the article but this guy must be living in a delayed universe, The reputation was ruined 10+ years ago and hasn't recovered since. As such people have voted with their wallets and stopped buying Xbox products in large amounts.
Rumors of Turn 10 being either shut down or hit with massive lay offs is on the horizon.
The issue is MS will do something right only to do something very, very wrong. And they do this what seems calculative at this point. Doesn't matter what they do the Investors and leadership want more and more money an endless bottomless pit of purr insatiable greed. A company that acts like it's broke or hurting is what really, really infuriates me. They've surpassed apple again well over 3 trillion who acts like they're a million dollar company is fk stupid. Pivots and changes for no reason and can't do things for more than a year with out a pivot or changing their metrics.
RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army revamps its combat, adds voice acting, and brings this forgotten Atlus RPG back to life.
Square Enix president Takashi Kiryu discusses the dropping player count of Final Fantasy XIV and the numerous projects of YoshiP.
Looks like Square Enix is self-aware but still stuck in place, they see the player drop and apologize for the bugs, but nothing really changes. Shame, FFXIV used to be the gold standard
My entire free company has stopped playing. The writing has consistently gotten worse and the content is sparse and lacking; unless you are a hardcore player there's very little for you to do. They are over-catering to the people who will grind three+ times a week on a single fight for multiple months when the playerbase by large doesn't want that sort of content. Square needs to dedicate more resources to the game instead of wasting them on mobile and other live service slop.
"More than that, it lacked anything resembling a Resident Evil experience. Capcom had been touting a return to the roots of the series in the months leading up to this reveal, but they don’t seem to have any idea what made fans love the series in the first place. This was a horror game, with nothing to differentiate it from the other titles inspired by P.T. It lacked the crucial survival element necessary for a true survival horror game, and in the absence of that… it just wasn’t fun"
Couldn't have said it better
Yup, exactly.
if Capcom not show logo i don't think this is resident evil game.
but hey capcom said demo not part main game (just show how the gameplay is going to work) and actual game will have more RE element.
This is a 17 minute demo of an experience within the game...it's Resident Evil enough for me at the moment and I've been with it since the beginning when it was called BioHazard in Japan - willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Exploration, zombies, finding keys...that's all very Resident Evil btw...just because it doesn't looking like RE4 a lot of people are complaining...wow, that was an entirely new direction and worked beautifully.
While it is definitely an odd direction for the series I'll gladly take some genuine horror back into this series over the garbage from the last few entries. People wanting a genuine sequel with all the survival elements in it have a right to be upset however this at least seems to be adding some flare to a completely stale franchise and I'll go ahead and hold on to my optimism with this one.
