Hands down better than anything Microsoft showed. Game of show.

Utalkin2me2964d ago

Not hard to do, considering how bad MS conference was.

joab7772964d ago

It's almost more like Uncharted or TLoU, which is smart. It can deliver a strong narrative as well as great combat. It's a natural evolution for newer tech.

Agreed. They likely need proper structure to do such a thing. I'm fine with it not being open world or more so open to a degree of, as games like God Of War need that structure based on what it is.

SOooooooooo excited for this next game!

but I saw that you earn XP from doing exploring and other activities, does it have RPG elements ?!

Fishermenofwar2964d ago

I think they may be going away from the Green magic and red exp components..I could be wrong...Byt Xp is fine with me....

trywizardo2964d ago

yeah,it might be used to upgrade weapons
also his axe had an ice elements, does it mean we can build our own weapons and choose the elements(fire, ice, lightning)

_-EDMIX-_2964d ago

Well....yes and no. God Of War for the last decade has had those elements in them.

RPG like? Maybe, but that has been debated for well over 10 years lol. As a RPG gamer that is a fan of God Of War series, I can't say its a RPG in that regard.

If we say its an RPG, we might as well add that concept to any and every game that gives you anything.

I would only go as far as to say its a hybrid of sorts. I wouldn't want an RPG fan playing it assuming it was a full blown RPG only to find its actually a hack and slash adventure lol

trywizardo2964d ago

well, now its confirmed that it have RPG system http://www.ign.com/articles...
read the last part

"During my extended demo, we wandered off the beaten path and discovered a number of crafting resources, pieces of armor, and idols. God of War will feature larger, much more in-depth RPG systems, something Sony will discuss further down the road"

This is someone who played it at E3, not actually the developer saying and calling it that. I think they likely mean the system to upgrade his abilities and weapons, which has been in every GOW title.

Maybe he means for the lack of a better word, but that isn't really enough for me to throw out that its an RPG.

It has elements of, it could be considered a hybrid, but I can't really throw that term at God Of War. If we can for this title, we can for a very, very large number of titles many do not categorize as RPG.

You can upgrade abilities and weapons in Resident Evil, we prepared to say thats an RPG too?

I guess we'll have to find out more about this system then as its not like I can't be wrong on this, I just feel if it was going that direction as a HUGE SHIFT, I don't think they would have not stated it from the very start.

robtion2964d ago

Looks that way.

I believe the developer said Kratos got a 1000 XP bonus for growing that beard ;)

Just when you thought he couldn't get any more manly.

"The accessibility should be the same as previous game, but the gameplay is totally different"
Probably why I liked the look of this one because I don't usually like GOW.

phoenixwing2964d ago

I liked this way more than the other god of war games. It already had a better story just from what little they've shown.

EmperorDalek2964d ago

The first God of War had a brilliant story.

hells_supernova2964d ago

Agreed I played right through God Of War 3 and was like yeah its great and I get it but it was missing something for me.

I hope they make Kratos a better Charcter

slate912965d ago

Im glad its not open world!

_-EDMIX-_2964d ago

Not really the reason I would be happy, but simply because it doesn't' fit the concept.

We have many, but many are pretty good so I can't really say "too many" as someone still the time to make those games.

For me, these Mario + Rabbids games were the best thing Ubisoft has developed in recent years. I'd hate to see Ubisoft drive the series into the ground like their other properties, so I think 2 games are enough. Maybe 1 more.

Inverno2d ago

They can't ruin it because Ninty will send their ninjas to destroy all traces of it. If not for that you can bet that spinoff series would've been milked dry by now.

Good luck in your future endeavors

Thank you for Mario + Rabbids series, I quite enjoyed it

Einhander19722d ago

Great games, I have wanted Sony to copy these games with their own mascots for years.

Michiel19891d 16h ago

not cinematic or 3rd person enough for Sony

DefaultComment2d ago

I think Nintendo has to hire this guy, I mean the fact that miuamoto himself said to him that he is impressed with this work, speaks volumes. Th possibility on having Mario on Soliani's hand could be incredible and quite possibly a new era for Mario games.

OtterX2d ago (Edited 2d ago )

Yea, these games didn't even feel Ubisoft at all. This felt very authentic Nintendo. This guy's direction is obviously stellar, and Ubisoft somehow managed to not kill it with microtransactions and repetitive, boring tasks.
