Resolution and frame-rate confirmed for FIFA 17

Frostbite is really optimized on consoles. Look at Battlefront and Mirrors edge catalyst. They run really well.

Yeah that's true but neither are 1080p on either console. 60fps is obviously long but a crisp 1080p image is nice to have too

Mirror's Edge Catalyst on PS4 looks worse than the original Mirror's Edge back when I was running it on my 9800GTX. Prerendered cutscenes were pretty, though.

Lol I don't understand why people who make simple nonjudgmental comments get downvoted for no good reason. Now I don't know about the frostbite engine being optimized for consoles lol I play on an xbox one and can assure you that as much as we are accustomed to a certain graphics quality, you'd be completely kidding yourself if you thought it didn't look even more breathtaking on a high end PC. Obviously. The graphics on a PS4 and xbox one are certainly reasonable on a nice TV when on consoles.

@servbot I have mirrors edge on origin & PS3, I can tell that catalyst looks better.

Frostbite doesn't achieve 1080p/60 in games developed by DICE for consoles because the hardware just can't take it, not because the engine isn't well optimized. If anything, it's amazing how much they've crammed into their console ports so far.

FIFA is a much, much simpler looking game, so it'd be kinda embarrassing if they couldn't achieve this kind of performance.

I think the surprise is it being 1080p on both using the frostbite engine.

No it'll have a snazzy new Frostbite intro video of them all then... Yeah back to looking the same in game as it has the last 5 years or so.
