Street Fighter IV Already Broken?

OXM reports that an infinite combo for El Fuerte has been found in Street Fighter IV.

The discovery came from America just weeks after Street Fighter IV made its public arcade debut there. The infinite sees El Fuerte cancelling standing fierce punch into a cancelled run, over and over again. The only break in the combo comes when the opponent is dizzied but El Blaze can simply start the infinite again.

All eyes are on Capcom to see how they deal with this discovery. Is this something they will ignore or something that will be fixed for the console release? Only time will tell.

The story is too old to be commented.

But this may ruin the arcade experience for a lot of people...

They had better fix it! This is the biggest "no-no" in any fighting game! So if you get caught by one combo, you automatically lose the match? Better believe they will fix that. I don't hold it against them for missing it, but I would if they left it there.

(Didn't mean to reply to you, just meant to post in general_ XD

But this isnt nothing new, the old Street Fighter II had a bug in the Arcades, but switched it up when it hit SNES & Sega! Pros like me know what move I'm talking bout. its none other than Guile's Handcuffs
it will make the Game freeze if you don't throw them off all you do is do his Flip Blade Kick Medium Kick & Medium Punch same time! Wham he puts on handcufs on anyone even Bison. then Quarter reverse throw to release them before timmer expires!

so this is how you play fighting games? block all the time?

So basically you have no problem with getting hit once and never, ever, being able to recover from it as you are taken from 100% life to 0%?

I block when I need to and that is when someone spams the same button over and over. And usually if you block precicly when someone hits you, you can stagger him or counter him in someway.

If you watch the video of him displaying the so called "broken combo" you can see that it's far from the severity that the article would like you to think. It's not that overpowered.

Did you even read the thread on Shoryuken?

Enigma_20993752d ago (Edited 3752d ago )

... have you never heard of GUARD BREAKS?!?!? And no one likes a turtler...

All this will do is doom us to a million El Fuerte players... And he's a stupid looking character to begin with!!!

Be that as it may, the fact that he still has access to such a damaging, EASY TO PERFORM combo is ludicrous... even Akuma's Instant Hell Murderer which nails opponents for almost haf their life is difficult to catch opponents with. Such a high reward attack should be balanced with a high risk, IMHO....

I don't really see the problem, it will very likely get fixed for home versions, and anyone using it in the arcades will lose respect pretty damn fast, and seeing as they are right there next to you (not sure if the networking works across arcades) you can just not play against them in future.

edit: it's still very lame of them to release the game in this state, makes me have even more respect for devs like blizzard who hold onto games and not release them for a long time after they appear to be finished, for long testing and balancing periods I assume.

"and anyone using it in the arcades will lose respect pretty damn fast"

Since when has that ever stopped people from taking the easy route in order to win? There will always be people who will do anything to win and/or to be the best.

I'd also have to disagree with your Blizzard comment, as WoW's PvP is severely broken right now. Not to mention the game relies heavily too much on player incapacitation. I think it's BS how it has become a game of paper/rock/scissors where one class totally dominates another (Rogue/Warrior > Warlock, for example) and all you see is people going after the easiest class to kill. Don't get me wrong, I do like Blizzard and I'm anxiously awaiting Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2, but they're not perfect. This is only my opinion of course.

I didn't even know this game was released in the arcades in the US.
