It's another great-looking, great sounding platformer from Rare - and one that plays well too. The different types of levels and their aggressive inhabitants provide a variety of fun platforming challanges. Finding everything in the game will keep you busy for some time, and once you've done that there's more fun to be had from trying to do it quicker - or just revisiting your favourite levels. Dixie Kong's Double Trouble (and the series in general) is a recommended download for your New 3DS.
"Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble is an extremely fun and underrated Donkey Kong game and it's also the final game in the SNES Donkey Kong Country trilogy that was developed by Rare." - Alex Legard from Video Chums
Personally was my fav of the 3, wasn't a big fan of 2 because it always felt like a fangame with it's level design etc. Glad to see this getting love. Outside Baby Kong I didn't have any issues with the game
Yes, it is much harder to start a retro collection in 2022 than it was in 2017, but it’s still possible! You’ll see there are still quite a few SNES games that are fun and affordable.
I really enjoyed Commando as a kid and it’s not listed . I bet it’s cheap maybe? Beat all 99 levels just to find out you start all over again .
Any retro console is still worth buying in 2022 whether a Genesis, NES, SMS, TG16. Some systems command a higher price then others but a SNES is still reasonably priced and worth grabbing you can mod the NA SNES to play Japanese games throw in an Everdrive and you're set. I feel sorry for some of the consoles I see on Ebay that have holes in them, yellowed to death, modified with shitty mods that barely work. The SNES might need a little work great way to learn if yellowed just use peroxide and UV light and it will turn white again. If you have a hobby of repairing older consoles that are listed as untested broken for parts some of the repairs are basic you can save money that way when buying a retro console. I just bought a $20 NES listed as broken on Ebay disable the lock out chip and new 72pin connector and it works.
Turning 64 this year.....my days playing video games are Now over.... time to move on to Jesus Christ .....I wish all of you Happy New Year . Game on Dudes!!!
It was fun while it lasted.
Donkey Kong Country 3 is a game held in high regard and with good reason but 25 years later, it feels like a chore to play.
A lot of older games feel like a "chore" to play now. It is because many are 'Souls' like. Miss a step, dead, an enemy hits you more than once or twice, dead. There is no get hit, and get/move/run away, and regain life or shields.
Excellent game - I remember being rather apprehensive about a Dixie/Baby Kong combo, but it works just as well as any of the other DKC titles... and David Wise's soundtracks are always great - not sure how good it'll sound on a handheld though.
