Gone Home is free for PSPlus Members on the PS4, and after winning numerous GOTY Awards, RGT 85 felt like checking out the game. What he was left with was more questions than answers though. Find out why he feels this is the worst GOTY Winner ever.

I can see that now. Even I realized that SJW people are idiots who just want to gain their personal agenda. I agree that people of internet really hate these SJW. And i know we people want them gone, but the truth is that these SJW will a find a way to hurt us if we ignored them. Every time and every years, we always face new threats, new corruption and new controversy. My father said that good vs evil have to exist in our world. Without them, we wouldn't make a process. There are so many things i have seen like this before.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I happen to agree with what this guy says. All the points made in the video are exactly how I felt after my 80min with the game. Can't believe I paid $20 for it. So glad when Steam let me permanently delete it from my library. It's the only game I've ever done that to.

I sometimes think that reviewers copy the scores of other reviewers. This game was not scary or interesting. There was just 2 parts in the WHOLE game that has a small interest of mine. The beginning and near the end. EVERYTHING else was walk + note reading simulator

Which is an issue when what's suppose to be a professional community effectively becomes lazy when their job is to service a larger consumer community. Veteran gamers know better than to trust most said professional reviews where those just getting into will only figure things out for themselves.

I agree pretty much with everything he said. One of the worst "games" that I bought in my life and this game was released in 2013. That year, just to name a few, we got GTA5, TloU, Bioshock Infinite, Metro Last Light, TR 2013, Rayman Legends and Super Mario 3D world.

Not all walking Simulators are bad btw. Some are actually pretty good like Outlast/Layers Of Fear/Firewatch/Vanishing Of Ethan Carter etc etc. But then others like Gone Home is just not worth the money or the praise.

Seen reviews praising this "game" and then saw gameplay videos on YouTube also including the 10 minute completion of this walking simulation, and saw the premise of the game. There I saw why it was rated so highly by journalists (at the time GamerGate was rife with journalists being found out for clickbait and unaccountability for biased reviewing)

First 10 minutes: Oh cool, a mystery game with 90's vibe. After that, absolutely nothing happens and there is so obvious PC/SJW/LGBT fishing story, that i was rolling my eyes when i reached the end. Awful game.

I have to admit I'm not really feeling it, and I love a good 'walking simulator'. The problem is, if you're gonna make your game solely about discovering the story you better make sure it's a pretty damn top tier story, whereas this one to me feels kinda like a sub plot of some tween oriented soap opera.

And that's the biggest problem with gaming these days. More and more we're seeing developers focus on narrative and less on actual gameplay. Games like Gone Home, Everybody's Gone To The Rapture, Beyond Two Souls, Heavy Rain, Fire Watch, the Tell Tale games, etc aren't GAMING. They're like mini movies that you control.

Yes, we're seeing more games like that. But it's not like other kinds of games have vanished - you can't call Just Cause 3 or DOOM "story-driven", for example! The existence of the games you list is only a problem for someone who thinks that people who like different kinds of games shouldn't have those options.

Me, I've got no use for bullet-hell games, hidden-object puzzles, and most twitch games. But that doesn't mean I claim they aren't games, or begrudge the people who *do* like them their enjoyment.

Witcher 3 GOTY is THE WORST GOTY ever ever EVER! F*ck that game and its absolutely awful interaction design and user interface. Sure they recently tried to fix it but the awards came in well before that. And sure I'm playing on a console but if it doesn't work on one format they've done half f*cking a job

I recently just played Gone Home, having gotten it via PS+.
I wouldn't even call it a game, it's just like reading a short story. I did rather enjoy my time with it, but I couldn't really recommend it to my friend when he asked "is it really just walking around a house, looking at letters?"
That's why I certainly wouldn't consider it for game of the year, but I did enjoy the story it told. I just thought it was sweet, nothing really there to offend me. I found that it resonated with me emotionally, albeit in a minor fashion. I certainly wouldn't have been happy if I had spent twenty clams on it. I also agree(though I genuinely liked it) that people were way up this games behind. In hindsight, it seems they went really overboard.
