Tune in and watch the global reveal in this in-depth look into the new city, new characters and new story of Watch_Dogs 2.
Watch Dogs 2: Rise of the Hipsters I guess they changed the main guy though, I always thought in the leaked image he was Asian...now he's black. Kind of an improvement overall design wise with the outfit. More unique looking I feel like the new location doesn't really suit the game. Hope they didn't just rip stuff from Driver: San Francisco
Lol what? ...I thought I lt was a chick.....tho Doesn't matter at all to me just be a good game is all I ask. Could be a green alien chick with a great ass and a Australian accent for all I care.
How is that racist. Don't say you are one of those guys who say something is racist for the sake of it If the character leaked was white and I said "Oh he's now black...kind of an improvment" would that be racist? Of course not because it's double standards The leaked character looked like one of those douchey Asian hipsters you see with the big glasses and that. That's not racist, it's just how people see it, hell I saw people saying the same type of things on here. Not about his skin colour...I was talking about his overall design appeal. Don't wear out the racist term because it's the reason why when real racist stuff happens people don't bat an eye lid and think you are just over using the term again
@-Foxtrot To be fair, you just said that a black character instead of an Asian character is an improvement, and that's literally racist. If there was the white->black transition and you said the same thing, it would also be racist (no double standard with me). Your problem being that the character had a specific kind of style and attitude that you didn't like is fine, but that's not what you said nor did you imply it. But whatever, no big deal. Note: -Foxtrot edited his comment after arguing with Kingthrash360 - he didn't originally mention the overall design, and then he told me that I need to read his comment properly after he altered it. [Facepalm].
i said it again the art/design team of Ubisoft are completely uninspired guys...i m completely repelled by the aesthetics/theme /general concept .. ...incoming flop
@LucasRuinedChildhood "To be fair, you just said that a black character instead of an Asian character is an improvement" ...DESIGN WISE Read the comment properly...Jeez EDIT Lucas is lying. Please ignore him. He's made himself look silly and he's trying to switch it around There is an edit but to fix a spelling mistake Even my other comments after the first one, which I said straight away said exactly the same thing so you obviously didn't look properly
@-Foxtrot Are you actually serious? I did read your comment, but you changed it (I was watching the video instead of moaning about the game, and didn't refresh the page). Now you're pretending that you didn't say what you said (you edited the comment 20 min later and completely altered it) - If you believed what you wrote originally was without fault, you wouldn't do that. "...Jeez," it's sad that you're bothered LYING about something like that.
Naw Im not "that" type of guy that's why I laughed ot off...it's just reading it it looked mildly racist is all...relax, if you ment design then you should edit your comment and make it clear. Also why include the race to begin with...just say you like the character design better...black, white, as a in is irrelevant. I don't think you are a racist bro...just your comment looked a tad racist is all. I see you did edit it and made it clear so I'll edit mine too
@foxtrot it actually is racist both ways but the whole saying it being changed to a black character is a improvement " Is the type of racism no social justice warriors will attack you on because it's not like a minority could be racist right?righttttt? - social justice warrior logic All ethnic groups have racist people in them. Say whatever you want who cares if society scolds you for it, majority of people are sheep and stupid.
I think the entire art design of this sequel is inferior to the first. What is more sad though is the fact that you can say that changing from one race to another is an improvement. Had you switched the races around in that statement it would be "racist". In any case it is unlikely that I will be buying this sequel, or any other Ubisoft titles in the future as they lack any creativity that they once had. Edit: You are getting hit for that comment harder than I thought you would, I won't report you or anything it was just my opinion. I am not an SJW so don't worry. I was just pointing something out. And yes I agree about the hipster, it screams Starbucks hipster looser and that probably is the case because that is what Ubisofts development teams are composed of.
Well like I said above it was more on the overall design not because of the race switch. A black guy with that design looks better then the Asian one we saw a while back. That's just my personal opinion and like I said it goes off the overall design, not the persons skin colour. I just think it's more different and unique this way.
How does this lack creativity? And which games do you like? Which games do you think are creative?
.... He looks more than a tech nerd, which suits the game concept very well
That was what I was trying to get at http://static.fjcdn.com/gif...
Foxtrot said kind of an improvement overall design wise!!!! Where do you get a racial tone from that??? Sweet jesus, this place going hardcore PC too? (Political Correctness!)
No, he edited his comment after arguing with Kingthrash360. Originally, there was no mention of the overall design.
Fair enough, but it is possible overall design is what he still meant, and seeing as how any word these days can be seen as a possible racist comment, he felt the need to change it. I have seen Foxtrot here for years, argued many times, but never seen him as a racist, nor ever seen any comment even close to suggest it.....
@Pogmathoin I believe that is what actually Foxtrot meant (I don't think he's racist at all), but it was unclear because he didn't mention the overall design or anything. It was just him saying that the Asian to black transition was an improvement, without any context. That's why Kingthrash360 even brought it up. I was being fair to him. Now, he's changed it, and I'm really pissed off that he has the nerve to call me a liar. Ugh.
Regardless, this particular thread should die.... He never meant it, worded it wrong, then fingers started to wag..... move on....
I like it how the character is coming from experience with a lot of stereotypes which everyone does in a way but the stereotypes he goes through are being a criminal, being stupid , or being poor which I thinks adds way more to a character in the game than ths Asian guy they originally leaked because let's be honest it would be cliche as fuck if it was Asian, a hacker, and in California LOL. I wonder how characters will interact with this character, will we see racism ? If it's so "raw, real, and balablabl" whatever one of the guys said it would be crazy to see that in a game happen, very taboo and avoided in our society. No one really likes to address racism but it would be interesting to see it happen in a modern society in a game because it actually does happen right now in our society sometimes.
I think the characters look like Ubi couldn't decide which stereotypical 'rebel' to go with so they went with a weird amalgamation. I think they have the opportunity to tell an interesting story if they lean into the class warfare/income inequality issues surrounding SF and Silicon Valley companies though. The cover looks like it should be the cover to a Tony Hawk game though. It's all kind of weird. Little douchebag...
I like how it's a black guy. Games looks decent. But so did part 1
Ok....moving on to the next game.
Good for you. I'll be enjoying this one.
Looks somewhat good, as long as they don't try too hard to make the game a teenage anonymous fan's wet dream and end up alienating older gamers, it'll be good. Looks better than the initial leaked trailer lead me to believe anyway which is great news.
I liked it. Seemed to improve on gameplay alot. The graphics looked on par with Syndicate and Division, so i doubt there will be downgrade this time.
Those were all downgraded.
Looked on par with the released version, obviously not what they showed at E3.
@AtariFanboy You doubt that it will be a downgrade this time? ubisoft has released like 5 downgraded AAA games in a row but you for some reason think this will not be downgraded. Lol you're going to be fooled once again
Assassin's Creed Syndicate and Far Cry Primal were not downgraded as far as I could tell. And if they were it was so insignificant that I simply don't care. Both games look awesome on my PC anyway. This game releases in five months. The first Watch Dogs was shown something like two years before it came out.
this will be downgraded in order to get stable frame rates. the game looks interesting and they will flech it out more than the first game. i just hope they fulfill their promise of the city actually feeling alive and not scripted.
I'll wait till it comes out and see what people say about it and not buy the stupid trailer hype...recent history has told me that Ubisoft games tend to not be the best
One thing I keep saying while watching it was, it looks like GTA 5 with hacking. Which is what the 1st one should of been.
Game looks fantastic, its looking like they adressed every issue i had with the first game.
Completely agree. This game looks a hell of a lot of fun. Can't wait.
This looks pretty cool. People need to stop hating on this game based on their experience with the first one. That weapon looks sick and Marcus seems cool as hell.
Mafia 3 looks way better then this. This game looks like it's for people under the age of 21. It looks like a hipster paradise when social media crap they have in it hashtags. The city looks cool but it's like about a guy a group they're going to go hack Corporations so they pretty much just ripped the story from mr. Robot. It looks laughable. They're printing their guns off of 3D printers they're making melee weapons out of pool table balls come on looks dumb.
I hope you know this game was in development before Mr Robot ever started filming.
The setting looks great this time, it's light hearted and doesn't take itself too seriously (you shouldn't either lol) That doesn't mean it's trying hard to be cool or something. Why not have 3d printed guns ? That makes so much sense, not to mention that it's something that can be done today. Why not have a weapon with a pool table ball ? The combat with it looked stylish, fast and fun. The parkour looked amazing too.
Well the first game basically ripped things from Person of Interest http://gearnuke.com/3-thing... Even Aiden was like Mr Reese
It is fine as long as they learned from the first one and improved ala AC 2. But seriously whats up with people and their hate with the game its only the second entry and they are trying to retcon their mistakes.
That 'pool table melee thing' is actually legit, in the UK some people actually used snooker/billiard balls inside a sock to knock the other guy unconscious.
Expected a lot, but have seen nothing too amazing though.
The amount of negativity here is ridiculous (I'll point out that this is coming from actual hipsters, ironically). Okay, we get it - you don't like Ubisoft. Get over and go away. Personally, I think the game looks interesting, and San Francisco is good location to go for.
Most of those people think they're cool or hip, but really they're just riding a bandwagon. I liked the first game and I think this one has a lot of potential.
Actually looks good.
They should of brought Aidan Pearce back
No they should not
I wouldn't really be inclined to agree with that. He was a bit bland for my taste. Apparently, these new characters are supposed to have more of a sense of fun.
I've read lots of opinion about how a new protagonist was vital and how Adrian was the reason the original wasn't great, but the fact is, it wouldn't have mattered if the game itself was enjoyable to play. Ubisoft don't ever seem to prioritize enjoyment in their games.
I wonder if this co-op feature will allow you to play story together?? What y'all think?
Yes. The whole game. Also, you don't even need to fire a single bullet to complete the game.
I'm glad he's black, AND the lead. +1 for diversity, makes me happy. That being said, I'm not completely sold on the game, I have to know how the driving is because the first one was like skidding around on ice lol. Hopefully they'll also have a better soundtrack.
I remember when I saw the reveal of the first watch dogs my mind was blown now I look at second and I am very underwhelmed
At least it reduces the chance of a mind-blowing downgrade this time round
Same junk different setting and lamer protagonist , gamefly it is .
Downgrade coming soon?
I'm glad he doesn't look so plain. The original main character was so bland.
I dont understand why people are hating on the game. Yes the first one was not bad but by no means was it bad. Think of it like transition from AC 1 to 2 guys. Both combat and hacking looks improved and integrated with the parkour movement along with new toys. The protagonist definitely looks interesting. Biggest complain with the first one was the bland protagonist, story and repetitive side missions. As long as they have improved side missions with mini stories ala witcher 3 and red dead I think this game will be great.
Totally agree. I was actually very impressed with the extra depth to the hacking and the general gameplay improvements. It looked a lot more like GTA (in the places it needed to). The parkour looks awesome.
They have the hobo bush guy!
They actually managed to make this look worse than the first game. I guess that's kind of an achievement. This doesn't even look like it's worth a rental.
This looks great. Yes when it comes to sandbox games everyone loves beating off to gta, I get it. But this looks way more sophisticated and not so annoyingly obnoxious, unlike the godawful dialogue in gta 5. Hopefully the driving mechanics are improved on from the first watch dogs because that was definitely it's low point. Also love the location, I was just in San Francisco for PSX and I love the landscape of that city and definitely looking forward to revisiting it with this game. Glad they didn't keep the main character too, as much as I liked Aiden Pierce, it just makes it too complicated when you try to keep them for sequels. Can't wait for this one.
I don't like the EDM, hipster tone to this one. But the gameplay does look better. But I think the tone of the first one will be better.
Sniff sniff... I smell a shitty game
I hope one day Ubisoft gets HACK and they never make GAMES again!
Really? That's pretty ridiculous. I mean, I don't believe that you've never enjoyed any Ubisoft games. And even if somehow you haven't enjoyed a single game from them (which I find highly unlikely) isn't it quite selfish to say you want them to be hacked and never make games again? What about all the millions of us who have enjoyed various Ubisoft games and would like to play any future game from them that appeals to us?
Still no planes? Come on I see they are using the farcry 3 detection style when enemies near by I want to be excited as I bought watch dogs 1 at launch but I will keep my hype low till we see more and get some hands on impressions R* are the true kings of open world games. It's amazing how what R* did on ps2 days still isn't being done on ps4 and Xbox one
