Ubisoft's open world techno-thriller - Watch Dogs - had its lovers and haters upon release. Here's what we hope Ubisoft will improve upon in the sequel.
For a start, no graphic downgrades.
For it to go away.
That's pretty selfish now isn't it. You didn't like it so it shouldn't exist? What about the people that liked the first game and would love a sequel? What about those who are open to the possibility the sequel may turn out to be something they enjoy?
This looks nothing like the first one........
Oh look, it's a Watch Dogs 2 article and people are talking about meaningless graphics changes on pre-release game footage on a game from two years ago. Huge surprise.
It really is pretty ridiculous how over-exaggerated that all is.
It really is. People don't seem to realize that gaming is sort of unique in that you see the product long before it's ever a final and finished product. Very few things are like that. But when somebody goes on the E3 stage to demo a game that isn't going to be out for a year or longer, they are essentially trying to sell you on a product that doesn't exist yet. They put together a piece of it that may or may not be indicative of the final product, and that's the best that they can do. It's a no win situation. Gears 4 beta just recently proved what happens if you show what something looks like it it's actual unfinished state. All I read for weeks was how terrible it looks. Now they are showing signs of it looking way better but it still isn't good enough for some people. You just can't win, and it's kinda pathetic that people have to be that way.
The Watch Dogs 2 trailer doesn't show the actual graphics of the game so I don't understand why people are talking about that but it does show the general theme they are going after, punk ass anonymous characters which is a huge downgrade compared to the first.
Trailers mean nothing. Watch some gameplay. https://youtu.be/reIWW2TlUD...
The world looks better but that doesn't change the fact the tone of the series has been completely changed to punk anonymous douche characters instead of the mature theme of the previous.
