From GameWatcher: "Throughout its two year-long marketing drive, Hearts of Iron IV has asked the question ‘what if?’ time and time again. Based around the events of World War II, the game employs an opportunistic AI that’s out to win, but pays deference to factual context. Historical accuracy can be turned off, though, which is where what if really comes into play.
"For me, personally, it’s the ‘what if?’ scenarios," adds Mats Virtanen, the game’s lead 2D artist, in the same dev trailer. "What would happen if Japan opened up a second front when the Germans invaded Russia?"
