Wow i was expecting a dumb article but thos guy hit it right on the head.Like I said you can have a top of the line console with the latest tech but if it Doesnt have the games "THAT PEOPLE WANT" no one is gonna buy your junk.

OB1Biker2874d ago (Edited 2874d ago )

Yea I think too many articles are making assumptions though. If the rumours have it there would be 3 or 4 new devices from Ms and their message might be a bit confusing. I don't know for xbox but playstation needs to focus on new games and I believe that what they ll be doing. I hope Sony conference is all about new games

naruga2874d ago (Edited 2874d ago )

PS2 broke through any competition with ease even if ti was the weakest console in its era (Both Xbox and Gamecube were more powerful and didnt even dent its successful expand)... now that PS4 has 40 million userbase i dont think there is any chance for competition even if the gap in power and performance is big.. they r just saving their names for continuing business in console industry that s all

bouzebbal2873d ago

it's easy to do more powerful. The real question is: at what price?

freshslicepizza2873d ago (Edited 2873d ago )

if the scorpio can offer a better vr experience, also support hololens, and get all the pc game support for a reasonable price then they might get the ball rolling more than the xbox one did. however until microsoft invests more into its own game studios i dont see them warding off sony or the ps4.

Shubhendu_Singh2874d ago

XB1S should be compared to PS4Neo, not PS4.

If we're talking about sheer power? - XB1S has the lead as rumours go. It won't matter that much "IF" XB1S doesn't have its own exclusive games (except VR games), i.e; not running on XB1.

If XB1S turns out to be XB2 with exclusive games, THEN Sony would want to release a PS5 asap. Other than that, I don't see much problem. Feel free to correct me.

Sunny_D2873d ago (Edited 2873d ago )

Sony shouldn't have to rush anything out to the market just because their competition is abandoning their product and trying to move on. Sony is at an all time high, and should use that time to expand their delivery of services and products to their current install base instead of ditching them when it hasn't even been 3 years since these consoles released.

medman2873d ago (Edited 2873d ago )

I think more to the point is how much, exactly, will a 6 teraflop xbox scorpio cost? Because when you look at the shift in Microsoft strategy, with all (and I do mean all) of their first party titles being available on pc, why buy an expensive console that will be replaced by a new, more powerful xbox in 3 years when you could build a pc and upgrade at your leisure, while still getting to play the entire Microsoft gaming library?

I think the thing that really will slow the adoption of the Scorpio is Microsoft having no true exclusives left. At least with the Neo or NX, if you choose to buy one, you know you will be playing experiences that are only possible on PS or Nintendo systems. At least that is how it stands at the moment, and I can't see Sony or Nintendo opening up to pc the way Microsoft has....now that open attitude is great for the rest of Microsoft as a company, but not so great for their console division.

killer_goat2873d ago

Sure all I keep hearing is that power doesn't matter. It's about the games so yeah ps4 has absolutely nothing to worry about. It's got plenty of both.

BossBattle2873d ago (Edited 2873d ago )

Well I'm a Xbox gamer and PS4 owner who knows the PS4 won't have a problem dealing with the Scorpio as far as sales. Even if the Scorpio has better specs PS4 just has the reputation. I prefer Xbox but can't deny that Playstation rules. But I will purchase a Scorpio and probably not the Neo.

The first Xbox was had more power then ps2 and never did owt the only shift Sony did is add networks

What, I thought this was dead after Shawn Layden left Sony. I would definitely pick this up if it's true. I have such great memories of playing the MediEvil games on PS1 and I played the PS4 remake. Such a great and underrated series.

A rumored game at a rumored show.. we’ve seen it all

TiredGamer5h ago

Agreed. The first remake was stylistically beautiful and a very noticeable improvement over the original in every regard. And it was reasonably priced and sustainably developed (i.e. not some mega big budget game that was do or die for the developer).

Zeke686h ago

Thanks for the spoilers... :(

RonnySins6h ago

Another day, another remake. Ugh!

SonyStyled5h ago

If you played the original print I can see your annoyance. I didn’t and probably a lot others the past 20 years.

Was it any good? Would you suggest playing the original print of 2, or suggest the remake? Just wondering because I didn’t play the originals as I had an n64 at the time

TiredGamer5h ago(Edited 5h ago)

I played the first remake and absolutely loved it. The quality of life and control improvements were very noticeable. I tried playing the PS1 original and gave up halfway through at the janky controls.

Expect the same for part 2. The PS1 version is janky as heck, but I would gobble up an improved remake day one.

The beauty of this kind of stuff is that I find myself enjoying more retro gaming today, so a relatively low budget classic remake (call it a single-A release) is exactly what is missing from first party releases in the modern age. I don’t want every game to be an unsustainable AAAA endeavor that is just overwhelming in every regard. Truly miss when game releases could be modest-sized surprises and still be commercially successful/viable.

Bring on more quality classic remakes!

Such a good series I also wish Sony would dust off Wild Arms and Legend of Dargoon even the Legend series needs to see the light again.

Omegasyde5h ago

My bets on new Socom and/or Wolverine (since Deadpool 3 is dropping in the summer).

I think one after this state of play will be PS5 pro preorder

SOCOM! SOCOM! SOCOM!
But please not like Socom 4
