Reviews 2 Go just finished their review on the Vita's newest FPS game. Here are their final thoughts:
"Paranautical Activity is an interesting mix of classic Quake gameplay and The Binding of Isaac. It certainly isn’t perfect with a lack of variety of random elements, no explanation of how to do anything, and some minor performance issues needing to be patched soon. However, it is still a decently fun FPS for pick-up-and-play sessions on the Vita. "
Paranautical Activity, landing on Switch courtesy of Digerati, takes old-school Doom-esque game play and smashes it headlong into a rogue-like mechanic.
WTMG's Leo Faria: "Do you like roguelikes, first-person shooters, Minecraft visuals and rave music? If you like all of those, then Paranautical Activity is a dream come true for you, buy it right now. If you like only 3 or less of the above, this game is definitely not for you."
Jakejames Lugo of The Koalition writes: Paranautical Activity is a first-person shooter that has procedurally generated rooms filled with monsters to kill but does very little else to be interesting or fun to play. While it borrows a lot of its visuals from games like Minecraft, it has a very lackluster approach to first-person shooting within its horror-like setting. Beyond that is nothing more than a very hollow experience that is both bland and buggy. Games like Paranautical Activity are meant to be played through multiple times for a different experience each time you do so, but it can be very difficult to do so when what is there isn’t fun enough to justify diving back in again.
