Why get founder edition? They're exactly the same as the non-founder one but cost more money.

That is exactly what people have been asking since nvidia announced it. A small group of people just wont wait the extra 1-2 weeks for 3rd party cards or actually might need a blower style. Certainly the majority of us will just get a better cooled 3rd party card, likely overclocked, for less money.

Pfft air cooled is for n00bs ;) But seriously, you are right, but what it comes down to overclocking capability. Founders cards are more refined for more overclocking goodness, much like how Ferrari Enzos are hand built compared to a mass produced car. Mass produced graphics cards will have a certain number of imperfections on the die, whereas the founders are handpicked for their perfection. Much like CPUs, some people will buy hundreds of CPUs and overclock each one and then sell the better overclocking processors for a huge profit. My CPU is currently running at 4.6GHz, up from 3.5GHz stock. But I can still push it above 5GHz during the winter because its one of the better overclocking dies
.

Founders Edition won't make a difference for most people, but basically from what I've read it's the silicon / chips that scored the highest in testing. So they in theory have a higher overclock capability.

It's like Intel with the "K" series, just part of what is known as the "Silicon Lottery"

Do not downvote this guy, he is 100% correct. Enthusiasts like myself will overclock the hell out of our hardware and are very much willing to pay a little extra for the extra overclocking capability. My 5930K is one of those higher overclockers, capable of easily hitting 5GHz with very little increase to uncore voltages. There are people who buy trays of processors and individually overclock each and sell the highest overclockers for massive profit.

My first job out of High School was at St Paul and over the next 5 years Iearned so very much. Seeing the hospital torn down tears a small piece of my heart out. The Daughters of Charity and the doctors and staff of St Paul Hospital will always be with me.

low cuda core count actually lower than the 980 which is another reason why I am going with the 1080 much higher cuda core count.

Review - System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remastered (PC) | WayTooManyGames

WTMG's Kyle Nicol: "System Shock 2 is an all-time great, easily one of the most important games of all time, and Nightdive’s 25th Anniversary Remaster edition makes it a touch more accessible without ever gutting its core, or anything that made it so cherished in the first place. The excellent core gameplay and stellar level design come together for an unforgettable experience. Furthermore, the fact it works shockingly well on a controller is already something worthy of a medal of honor for the studio. Now, while we’re at it, where’s that System Shock 3 we were promised all those years ago? I’m hungry for more!"
