Before gamers hear more about the future of The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077 is the next franchise for CD Projekt RED to visit.
Square Enix president Takashi Kiryu discusses the dropping player count of Final Fantasy XIV and the numerous projects of YoshiP.
Looks like Square Enix is self-aware but still stuck in place, they see the player drop and apologize for the bugs, but nothing really changes. Shame, FFXIV used to be the gold standard
My entire free company has stopped playing. The writing has consistently gotten worse and the content is sparse and lacking; unless you are a hardcore player there's very little for you to do. They are over-catering to the people who will grind three+ times a week on a single fight for multiple months when the playerbase by large doesn't want that sort of content. Square needs to dedicate more resources to the game instead of wasting them on mobile and other live service slop.
Game Rant interviews Dune: Awakening composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen about his process for giving the harsh deserts of Arrakis a musical voice.
Sony kicks off PS Plus' 15th anniversary by chatting with Game File about the past, present and future of its gaming subscription service: Talking price, catalogue tweaks and where the PS3 games are.
Glad, I’m about to downgrade when they raise the price. For me, I don’t really access much or care about the games they have in the library and if I do, it’d be cheaper to just buy them over time rather than stick to some expensive subscription model.
Extra is probably the best value for money right now, Premium doesn't have anything special enough to justify paying the additional imo.
cloud streaming to the portal, without using the ps5, is the selling point of premium to me.
Writing with the intention of 'finishing' a story that begins with Sapkowski's Witcher novels would have had it's advantages (pre-established lore, characters, storylines) but it would also of been quite limiting in-terms of introducing new ideas and characters... that said, CDPR have done an amazing job with the additions they made to the universe.
Still, it will be interesting to see what they do with their newfound creative 'freedom' - whilst Cyberpunk does have a ready-made history and lore, the story isn't as set-in-stone as the Witcher's... and they're already putting that extra money to work - hiring multiplayer-specific programmers, 'shooter devs' and what-not.
I'll buy anything they are selling. It's a shame this is geralts last run but the witcher universe still has a ton of potential.
I just hope CDPR read up on interaction design. I could not stick with Witcher 3 unfortunately and that was purely down to the terrible control system. Admittedly on PS4 and I guess the game's native platform is PC but OH MY GOD it really was the most annoying game to play. To the point that I'm baffled by how this got GOTY awards. I lost count on how many candles I extinguished instead of looting some container
I'm eager to play a CDPROJEKTRED game that is actually a good game
