Every now and then there's an announcement by a major publisher that catches us by surprise - and not in a good way. We try all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify that publisher's actions as a positive for the gamer but sometimes we're just left with a vague sense of bafflement and a perplexed, "Huh?" on our lips
MW 2019 is five years old at this point and on previous gen hardware, but it is still the best looking Call of Duty game to date.
MW was an excellent videogame. They messed up Spec Ops big time, but aside from this it was a huge step in the right direction initially. Most notably, at launch it seemed to come from a very cohesive creative vision that was felt across gameplay, to story to art style/visual direction. It was also very notably written by prominent ex-Naughty Dog guys that quit almost immediately before release.
That COMPLETELY dissolved through post-launch content and the full pivot to a "cross-mode" narrative that completely obliterated the cohesion in overall story direction. Warzone then "became" the new face of Call of Duty and the franchise completely removed itself from anything remotely creatively "good". It is a pure money machine, so I kinda get why they're doing it....but I personally completely lost interest.
I would love to see Infinity Ward move off CoD and get to make their own product with full control. They clearly have some massive talent in their ranks but it's perverted by Activision's corporate interests.
Call Of Duty is back with its yearly instalment, but is Modern Warfare 3 breaking new ground, or just a lazy cash grab? The answer may not surprise you in today's review from JDR.
The original Modern Warfare and Modern Warfare 2 games have been drawing players back in
I really hope we get other activision games on GP soon. My dream would be Scarface but I know the license probably expired
None of those games had dedicated servers on console in the first place? Were always player hosted. Did something change?
It should have included all of the DLC but its Activision so F*** you pay me
On last gen consoles?
Lol, actually no, this would be one of the greatest remasters if they include all the DLCs, instead of getting advanced warefare in the legendary iw bundle, you could get it bundled with aw 2 / 3 , which is a freaking dream come true. But like the article states, its just speculations
Activision's agenda sucks so hard. If they released a Modern Warfare Collection (Including CoD4 Remastered) with all DLC from all games, they would easily be sitting on potentially the biggest Call of Duty goldmine ever.
I wouldn't even question buying that. Wasn't too keen on MW3, but CoD 4 and MW2 with no hackers and a revived community would be one of the easiest $60 I'd ever spend for a game.
There's no point for this on last gen. If someone never bought these games years ago, it's unlikely anyone will find incentive to buy them now.
Just drop the shitty ploy to shift more copies of Infinite Warfare by making the premium edition the only way to play CoD4 Remastered. Yeah like that will happen.
I might be interested if it included all the DLC and all three games on a single PS3 Blu-ray disc. Saw it at Gamestop a few days ago, it's just new packaging.
