Gadgets 360 says: "If our Doom review wasn't enough for you, here's what you need to know about how Doom plays on the PC."
Discover 10 timeless video games from the past that remain absolutely playable today. From Chrono Trigger to DOOM, these classics have aged like fine wine!
Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.
Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
The video game industry is already so creative, but one thing that can be improved is its handling of space.
After watching Scavengers Reign? The answer is unequivocally yes. I really want something out of left field but I think people are too afraid to shake things up.
It's what I love about Shadowrun and Black Mirror. Love, Death, and Robots proved that there's an audience for stuff that doesn't fit the mold.
The iconic demon-slaying shooter just got a corporate makeover—perfect for pretending to work!
Articles like this are a primary problem with gaming 'media'...Not singling this thing out, but:
Its not a 'performance review'...its just a 1000 word essay on the system requirements...that we've all had for weeks...with a screen shot of the system settings menu in game...
The bigger problem is how the requirements presented by the developers are misleading to begin with...an I5 2400k as a bare minimum cpu?...on a game that can also be rendered on xbox one and PS4?...not even close to minimum...I've held 60fps regularly for 6 hours of the campaign on an A10 6800k (and 280x gpu) at 1080p with no adjustment to resolution scaling...just a few tests of different settings, which averages out to be high overall (shadow quality seems to be the killer, but many others can be left on ultra with little impact)...
that cpu is far better than what is in either console...but considerably under the performance of that I5 and 8 core FX...
other 'performance reviews' are pointing this out...just odd that they are done on steam forums or other sites...by users...and not 'professionals'...Agai n, this is very common and nothing personal to this site i've never heard of...but seriously...either actually do some testing with various equipment of how the game really utilizes PC hardware...or don't make an article headlining that you did...seems fair, right?
