Rather than that, I wish Mojang and Micro would lower the price to the same as other versions.
That's not going to go over well...

LOL_WUT2910d ago

There's no need to. They know that WiiU owners have been itching for Minecraft to be released on the WiiU. They went out of their way to throw in some Mario themed stuff, therefore, the price is justified. If anything we should just be glad it even released for the system. ;)

wonderfulmonkeyman2910d ago (Edited 2910d ago )

Mario themed stuff which Nintendo probably had to help them make.
You wouldn't be making these excuses for an excessive price tag if it were happening to anyone but Nintendo, and you know it.
The game's years old; you and others complain constantly about Nintendo not lowering the price of their own first party games, but suddenly now that someone else is doing it, that's okay, huh?
Whatever; I'll get it once the price goes down to a reasonable level.
Until then I can always play it on PC.

@ Monster.
I can understand that logic.
What I can't understand, is why they'd think it's fair, let alone that it would WORK.
How could they reasonably expect that a new Mario skin pack would make a higher price feel OKAY to consumers that know just how old this game is?
As a business, this just shows that they don't respect the intelligence of the consumers they're trying to sell to.

The truth of the matter is that they're trying to price gouge Wii U owners by just slapping Mario into it.
It's the exact same spirit of mistake that third parties made when they thought they could lead off the Wii U's first year with nothing but old ports at higher prices.
They assumed that Wii U owners were desperate for their games, and gullible enough to accept higher prices and lesser content.
If it didn't work back then, I highly doubt that it's going to work now, and I honestly feel it's quite shameless of Mojang and Microsoft to pull this greedy BS on fans that they haven't honestly given a damn about up to this point.
I can understand why they'd lack confidence, given the abject failure of other third parties to make their games compelling enough to sell on the Wii U during its first year, but it doesn't excuse making a bad pricing decision that is more likely to drive sales AWAY than bring them in, when considering the age of the game and the price of it elsewhere.

Besides, it's not like offering it at the same price as others would hurt them anyways, ya know?
They've already made more money than they can possibly spend off of its sales elsewhere; using price parity for the Wii U version wouldn't even dent their earnings reports, and would probably make the game more attractive and sell better on the Wii U, to boot.

Monster_Tard2910d ago (Edited 2910d ago )

I think it's more that Microsoft wasn't confident in it selling too well on the Wii U, so they bundled it with some skin packs and are charging a higher price to make the investment more worthwhile.

@monkeyman

I can see your point, it's not really fair to Wii U owners. It's even worse that the Wii U edition of this game has a much smaller map size and isn't on par with the PS4 and Xbox One versions, it's a higher price but has less in it.

Infinite but not the first two games? Witcher 3 but not the first two games?? GTA V but not literally any of the games before it??? Portal 2 but not the first? Also if you're going to play Shadow of The Colossus play the remaster and not the remake. Can't say I disagree with the list but my man it's all over the place.

Name Last Name48d ago

I mean some sequels are objectively better and you don’t need to play the whole series.

Inverno48d ago

But most of these games have a story to follow, sure you can catch up with a YouTube vid but where's the fun in that?

LucasRuinedChildhood48d ago (Edited 48d ago )

A list like this isn't telling you not to play the previous games if you want to. It's just giving you legendary games to play.

But tbh, you don't always have to force yourself to play every entry in a franchise to get to the better ones.

- The vast majority of Witcher 3 players never played the first 2 and had a great time. The first 2 games aren't in the same league.
- The GTA games are self-contained with the odd fun reference. You can easily jump into any of them.
- The Shadow Of The Colossus remake looks and controls better than the original (plus it has a 60fps option while the remaster is just 30fps). New players will enjoy it more.
- Portal 2 is a lot better than Portal 1 and takes the concept much further gameplay-wise. Storywise, Portal 1 is fairly light too. Not that you shouldn't play it but realistically ... you'd love Portal 2 whether you play it or not (at lot of Portal 2 players have never played 1).

Bioshock 1 is the only one I agree with you on simply because it's one the best games of all time and arguably better than Infinite. No other setting like Rapture.

Looking at the list, I'd recommend playing Uncharted 1 before 2 but no doubt, 2 is the legendary one you have to play.

Inverno48d ago

I get it, but that's just my opinion on his opinion. I just think that before you play a sequel you should still play what came before it. Maybe it's just me but i find it fascinating playing through the first game in a series and seeing how it has evolved through its sequels. Like I said I don't disagree with the list, other than SoTC which I strongly believe the remaster of the original should be played above the remake.

AuraAbjure48d ago

Awesome list! Hot take on Fear (and it's hard af expansion Persaus Mandate!) Bioshock Infinite is stellar, so is the Witcher 3 and you nailed it by having Ocarina of Time. So many fantastic games! Gotta play 'em all! Next one on my list is Prey after I beat Dead Space 2 and Splinter Cell Conviction.

Minecraft Bedrock Introduces Official Add-Ons To Marketplace

Minecraft Bedrock is introducing add-ons to the marketplace. The add-ons can now be added to many existing and new worlds.

Jin_Sakai69d ago (Edited 69d ago )

Nice! Next up, shaders on consoles.

“A new update is improving how mods work for Minecraft Bedrock. Mojang has introduced add-ons to the marketplace.”

“These add-ons can now easily be added to new and existing worlds instead of being tied to a single world.
There are plenty of free and paid add-ons that will let you customize just about anything in your world.”

OtterX67d ago

So RayTracing is no longer locked to the NVIDIA maps? I know there was a workaround, but it will be nice to have easier access to all worlds.
