You don't have to actually. But, as someone who has been playing this game since the first, it would be a shame if you didn't get all the references to past adventures, especially in Nate's attic. That was nostagic as hell

Dude when I went through that part I'm not going to lie I almost got teary eyed lol. Even though I just played through all 3 and got the platinum for each one just before 4 released it still made me nostalgic as hell looking at everything and I loved when picking them up how the music from that specific game would play just for a few seconds man it seriously got to me.

I don't think the ending would have made half the impact if I hadn't played 1-3 first.

Absolutely. But having said that if I was new to Uncharted and wanted to play UC4, I wouldnt let that stop me. But you really should get the UC Collection first.

Basically, with the Uncharted Collection (PS4) you are getting what was three AAA games for less than the price of one AAA game. Obviously, if you don't like Action/Adventure games and have not got a PS4 then maybe Uncharted is not for you.

Immediately thought of the El Dorado zombie dudes in Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

Not necessarily a ‘horror’ moment, but I remember feeling really tense and anxious when the Flood were first introduced in the original Halo. I never felt more on edge or nervous in that whole game as that moment. I think it was the whole buildup that something terrible was coming but you didn’t know exactly what.

Another non-horror game that had me feeling it was Subnautica. The deep dark depths, and knowing that sea monsters were lurking nearby, had me jumping at every sound.

That scene where you first see them attack is pretty crazy!

I remember being scared of the Asylum level in the most recent Thief game from 2014.
