Shut it!!

I do want Crash Bandicoot

TLG19912943d ago

You will get told what you want and don't want and you will accept it... OKAY!

bouzebbal2943d ago

I would be more tempted by a Sly game.
I do not imagine how Crash would be on PS4, PS1 version was kind of lacking freedom to move around etc... Of course i would love a great Crash game and i will buy it day one if it is just like i did with Jak Ratchet Sly Mario

naruga2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

article "Crash Bandicoot wasn't that good anyway" ---> Trash click f..ing bait ....boycott the thing down and dont click it ...worthless opinions by some who probably played games only on N64 and X360 ...

So xboxone can compete?

they already tell you what games you can and can't play... why can't they tell you what you need?
^_^

GamingIVfun2943d ago

The state of video game journalism is getting really sad. Nothing but stupid articles to get cheap hits.

CoNn3r_B2943d ago

Told me this a year ago and I would have agreed with you but with the success of Ratchet and Clank I feel there is a place for Crash Bandicoot on the PS4, maybe a reimagining similar to R&C.

Fin_The_Human2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

You really can't compare R&C to Crash.

R&Cs art style was very Pixar like from the start and the holders games have aged well in terms of graphics and gameplay.

Crash on the other hand has not aged well and the new developers would have to completely redo the game and the character design.

The game will probably turn out like Knack in terns of gameplay which was not bad but not great as well.

I say let Sony release it and see what happens, if its great then that's awesome and if its mediocre then that OK too cause the franchise was pretty much left for dead and atleast it got a chance.

ninsigma2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

I think it is very possible for a decent crash game to be made on new gen. I had the same doubts before but after seeing this fan made crash in unreal 4 http://m.youtube.com/watch%... I believe it's very possible to bring him back.

Utalkin2me2943d ago

@Fin_The_Human

Youre comparing a game that came out on a PS1 in 1996 vs a game that came out on the PS2 in 2002 . Then go on to say one has aged better......SMH. Naughty Dog at the time was creating impressive tech back in the day with texture mapping and such. What it achieved on the PS1 was nothing short of amazing.

daynnight3652943d ago

"Crash on the other hand has not aged well"
Bruh the last installment was on the ps1 lol

UltraNova2943d ago

Definitely this! They should definitely do a full remake of the OG Crash or remaster the original ND trilogy and release it on one disc!

That said, I don't know if this will ever be possible considering Sony confirmed that the rights belong to Activision.

I believe Sony listens to us and wants to make this happen, but trust me when I tell you we should all stop asking for Crash. Why? Because as long as we show such massive interest Activision will ask for even more from Sony for buying the rights back. I'm 100% sure that its Activision who is to blame here, because if this IP is worth e.g. 50mill they surely ask for 250million and no one in their right mind would eve accept that no matter what the fans say.

So lets stop fueling Activision's insatiable greediness.

TheUndertaker852943d ago

If they choose to do a remaster it'll be a tad ridiculous imo. We've already seen enough of that with PS2 and PS3 games. If they start doing PSOne remasters take that as a sign of zero backward compatibility in the future.

I already dislike having to buy PS2 games again to play them, albeit slightly upgraded. There's really zero reason the PS4 shouldn't be able to have PS2 backward compatibility. If they start doing the same with PSOne games I'll be highly disappointed. There's even less reason that shouldn't be doable.

No, not pushing the importance of backward compatibility either but giving the option then charging for things again is very BS.

KentBenMei2943d ago

Adults who are not blinded by nostalgia have no interest in Crash. Revive him if you want, but he died for a reason and Naughty Dog wants nothing to do with him because they're catering to adults and not kids.

Man_Among_Mice2943d ago

Speak for yourself. You give me a Crash Bandicoot on par with earlier entries in the series and I will happily play it to my hearts content. A good game is a good game, period, whether it's for kids or adults.

KentBenMei2943d ago

Not true. Children's games are for children, period. I don't care how good a Sponge Bob Square Pants or Power Rangers game plays, I won't enjoy t because the subject matter is simply not interesting. Some games like Mario and Sonic can manage to appeal to everyone of all ages (less so these days, though, with Sonic Boom and Cat Mario trash littering the gamespace, but I digress) but Crash and Spyro just don't, IMO.

By all means, enjoy what you like. I just can't find value in Crash. He's a good memory and a symbol of the great era he lived in, but nothing more.

Man_Among_Mice2943d ago

@KentBenMei

Actually what I said is true. A good game is a good game no matter who it's targeted for. Just because you don't enjoy doesn't make it bad. It's just not your cup of tea. Some hold appeal to all and some don't. Nothing wrong with it just the way the world works.

ninsigma2943d ago

I liked crash but he was never a wow factor for me but I'm not blinded to the fact that a revival of crash would be huge.

KentBenMei2943d ago

It would be interesting, I just wouldn't get my hopes up. I like seeing revivals sometimes. Bubsy and Gex need one just because I allow my nostalgia to say so, haha.

SavingPvt_Highon2943d ago

If you've played a crash game then you know they get insanely hard as you progress. Graphical style and feel, yes, it catered to kids, but difficulty, it was definitely for adults.

KentBenMei2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

Difficulty was high in all games back in my day, kids games or not. Difficulty doesn't dictate what audience a gam panders to. Only more recently have kid games been easy.

garrettbobbyferguson2943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

"Catering to adults"

You mean children that think they're too mature for anything that isn't filled with murdering millions of people? People want Crash. I also see an interest in a revival of platformers and games that aren't just about murdering with guns. If that's all you enjoy, then please enjoy it.

KentBenMei2942d ago

Nice hyperbole. Genocide isn't necessary for adult games, but it's a lot better than goofy cartoon characters hopping around. No thanks, if you enjoy pretending you're 5 again then go for it. I'll be enjoying the likes of Quantic Dreams, TellTale, and such while you enjoy Barney's Great Adventure just because the gameplay is solid.

And I have nothing against Platformers. Mighty No. 9 is one of my most anticipated games. It is a bit more universal in appeal than dumb animal characters, thanks; I outgrew Mickey Mouse when I outgrew diapers.

notachance2943d ago

?

you get to define what adults are supposed to do now? and I bet you speak on behalf of all adults when you say they aren't interested in Crash I guess? you a god or something?

Or let me guess

a f.a.n.b.o.y

sonic9892943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

Enjoy your ADULT games .
let us minors enjoy our games too could you please XDDDDD.
if thats the way you communicate and deliver your opinion to other people i doubt you have grown much, if at all .
but then again who am i to judge people .
i respect Uncharted fans and i give the game its credit even though i dont play that type of games .
Crash or Sonic or Sly cooper or ratchet these are the games that inspires the gamer inside me if these games seize to exist then i will not be a gamer any more thats why variety is required and very essential if you want a successful business and want to get as much mass appeal as possible so kudos to all different types of video games the ones that i play ( platformers, JRPGs and some other creative games like the last guardian ) and the ones that i dont play ( shooters and cinematic games ) as long as its not harming the society or insulting anyone that game deserves to be played and admired .
i believe that sounded more adult than what you said right ?

NapalmSanctuary2942d ago

I think a new Crash would be nice on PS4 (R&C was awesome), but I don't want Naughty Dog to do it, because they're doing other things that interest me far more.

Germany72943d ago

Sanzaru Games can make a great new Crash Bandicoot.

sonic9892943d ago (Edited 2943d ago )

Sony needs to assign a top dev for the game .
ND isnt the right choice because i dont think they can make a mario like quality game ( not their expertise ) but they are very very good with what they are doing right now .
i personally dont want a mediocre crash game i want something that shows care and shows commitment not just a line up filler in other words i want something to compete with the best games of the year or at least with the best platformers of the year .
Crash used to compete with mario especially with the second and third game i personally want that same level of care . .

What Happens to Your Steam Account When You Die?

The Outerhaven writes: While Steam has come out recently, stating that Steam accounts can't be transferred, we need to think about it since we all will eventually kick the bucket. But if Valve is denying transferring accounts, what can be done? Plenty, actually.

It goes to my kids because I gave them the passwords.

To Steam: Missio has a song that conveys my feelings about you stealing my purchase after I die. It's called "Middle Fingers"

shinoff21837h ago

Pretty much. My son knows my info.

Abear217h ago

Yeah worrying about digital ownership when you’re on the other side of the grass seems a little strange, but also on brand for these millennial journalists to worry about.

Goodguy0111h ago

I suppose if I have kids, I'd just give em my account details by retirement age. If I die young then...idk lol.

CrimsonWing698h ago

Yea, I mean just give someone the password to your account. Is that difficult to do or something? Like, I’m legit asking because I don’t know.

anast6h ago(Edited 6h ago)

It's not difficult but It's against the policy. If they find out, they will lock the account permanently.

CrimsonWing695h ago

Ah ok, I had a feeling there was something like that. It seems kind of weird that you can’t just hand your account over to a family member or friend and let them take over the account.

CDPR Confident In Transition To Unreal Engine 5 For New Witcher Game, Addresses Industry Layoffs

CD Projekt Red is confident in the transition from its in-house Red Engine to Unreal Engine 5 for the next Witcher game.

My main concern with UE5, is that some developers have resorted to very low resolutions in order to enable the advanced feature set of this engine and sustain the frame rate.

In open world games, especially those with excellent graphics, we cant realistically expect 60fps  from consoles (PS5 pro set aside as we do not know exactly how performant it will be) without huge compromises.

Thus the new Witcher game will probably require more powerful consoles to experience it the way the developers intended and in that sense, it reminds me of Cyberpunk situation.

It was released in current gen systems albeit in dire state (even PS4 Pro and Xbox One X suffered) requiring next generation consoles to achieve a desirable (and still not ideal) result.

DarXyde12h ago

My thoughts exactly. This is definitely a PC engine first and foremost, given the compromises required on consoles. Tekken 8 is a **fighting game** on UE5 and, even without Nanite and Lumen, needs to be upscaled to 4K to run at a solid 60fps. The engine straight up dog walks current console hardware. I don't see this getting much better on a PS5 Pro either.

I don't see this game releasing this generation. If it wasn't Sony owned, I think Decima 2.0 would be an excellent engine for this game.

Aussiesummer10h ago(Edited 10h ago)

I am quietly confident that they are going to make one hell of a jaw dropping witcher considering what they achieved with cyberpunk, i reckon they will bring a new level of what can be expected from ue5 BUT i reckon it will be a ps6/rtx 5090 game.
