Rumor: Will the Nintendo NX Use Cartridges?

Japanese finance site Money-Link (translation by NeoGaf user Jim_Cacher), might have inadvertently let loose some information about the Nintendo NX.

From what I hear yes very true. Not a bad idea either when you consider the benefits of chips over disc. Now that you can store more information on a chip and not drive the cost up. Not to mention much more resilient than any disc and little to no load time. I'd say it's a step in the right direction.

I think this rumor just leans even more to the theory the NX is the cross system that is primarily a handheld but can be connected to the TV in someway. Either way, I like the idea of going back to a format that doesn't require eating hard drive space for mandatory installs and long loading time.

I hope so carts are better,faster data speeds,Zero load times,more durable,smaller and can store a lot more then a blu-ray ie 64GB/128GB so yeah bring slightly bigger 3ds carts with much more storage and zero loads and I'll be happy.

I hear a lot of people whining that the NX might use cartridges, but as a gamer myself, that has the potential to be awesome. Think about how much hard memory has improved, just think how much we can fit on to a micro SD card these days, so the old memory issue is an issue no longer. So with the one big problem with cartridges effectively eliminated, let's look at the plus sides, namely no loading times and a more lasting product. How many PS One games do you own or know people that own that are unscathed enough to still work? Now ask the same thing about N64 cartridges. Or SNES, hell, regular NES cartridges still work just fine in most cases. Nintendo has usually known what it was doing, they just don't always advertise the best.
