While everyone is fihgting over" 5reason why ROTTR is better" and "Black people and other races were not in ww1, so BF1 musty be steampunk", these guys are actually having fun and inspiring each other.
Again, yes: When a dev attempts to compliment a considered industry rival, inadvertently bring to question the quality and effort of their own product, the internet is going to call them on it. Likewise when a seeming industry rival offers positive comment after someone else apparently trips ups, that's going to be called for what it is as well.
Wait, are people really arguing that black people weren't in WW1? You'd think they would just do a simple Google search if they were unsure, but to argue that WW1 was just white soldiers fighting, is just idiotic.
Good to see Druckmann and Sam Lake, still showing each other respect, both incredibly talented and have help make some of my favorite games.
What those people don't seem to understand is that black people and other races WERE in WW1. I guess they need to get out of their basement to figure that out, but a simple google search would have been have been more then ok.
I like it when devs praise each other. Successful games drive the industry forward and raise tje bar for other devs to top it. However...
I grew up in the days where Naughty Dog and Insomniac were friendly rivals. That was the golden era of gaming with the PS2. It's pretty disheartening to me that ND didn't even bat an eye on Ratchet and Clank, and neither Insomniac will do the same for U4
Perhaps the people who worked for both Naughty Dog and Insomniac are no longer there. The people working at these studios now are new people who never had history with each other?
Uncharted 4 is a serious step above, as the greatest game so far this generation and one of the best of all time. I'm pretty sure there are lots of people at Insomniac enjoying the heck out of UC4, just like there are plenty of folks at Naughty Dog enjoying R&C now that they are down tools. They aren't obliged to give each other an official nod.
I could play both of this two games too because I own an Xbox and a PS4 but I only will play Quantum Break. Uncharted never was and IP for me, it just bores me.
game4funz yes I thought quite the same thing, maybe I will grab Uncharted 4 after a year for cheap when it is on sale. I don't really like the gameplay of the Uncharted IP but the graphics are really nice to look at.
How would someone like Quantum Break, an Action based, narrative focused TPS with a mix of story, gun play, puzzles & platforming, but be bored by Uncharted, an action based, narrative focused TPS with a mix of story, gun play, puzzles & platforming?
To each their own but there's a lot of obvious overlap in the target audiences for these games, and if Uncharted is "boring" you, chances are you are going in w/ a lot of hang ups, which is no fault of the game itself. The absolute last word I & most others would use to describe Uncharted is "boring".
I don't understand why they are being compared.Remedy is being hyped up as one of the best in the industry. They are not. They are not in the same league as rockstar, bioware, cdproject, fro msoft ,naughty dog ect.
Some people are saying that about the Coalition and we haven't seen a game from them yet. By that I mean they never released a game before so its impossible to judge them at this point.
Anyways it takes a huge amount of effort to be on the same level as NaughtyDog, Rockstar, CD Project Red etc. But even if a developer isn't there yet doesn't mean they are bad. Just look at Ratchet and Clank. The game is nowhere near the quality of a NaughtyDog title but it's still a great game especially with a meta of 86.
@Move
What I'm saying that while Ratchet is Great (playing it right now) its nowhere near Uncharted 4. Insomniac as a developer are on par with others like Remedy for example.
But Insomiac have always put out great games (some bad but most great), all the ratchet games are scored highly so it's not a surprise AT ALL that sunset or the remake turned out good.
OK..... I have fond memories of their older games, being pretty much only Max Payne and its sequel. If Remedy had maintained their trajectory with the great quality of those 2 games and impressed as much over a long space in time, they might have earned the mention. Sadly, their games have been getting worse as time goes on. Their Metacritic averages are not so favourable when compared with the champions of the industry. http://www.metacritic.com/c...
Remedy has no place in the echelons of legend with Rockstar, Kojima, Naughty Dog and co. They are yet to earn a place. Hopefully with the right inspiration and new talent, they will get there.
He mentions nothing of Quantum Break. The less inspiration taken from that game, the better. I agree with his general sentiment though. I've found great enjoyment from Remedy's games in the past... Max Payne series is one of my all time favourites and I quite enjoyed Alan Wake despite its drawbacks. QB was a flunk though, nothing redeemable.
Like others have mentioned, he doesn't pay homage to Quantum Break, he says "your games have been a big inspiration", that refers to past games, as Uncharted was in development long before Quantum Break was released.
