"Naughty Dog does more than go back to the well with Nathan Drake's greatest adventure yet."
That's a big 10 or 5/5 if you prefer. http://i.imgur.com/nmr2Ibi....
"To say it’s the best-looking game on PlayStation 4 feels like doing it a disservice. It’s the best-looking video game I’ve ever seen on any console" Here's some no holds bar honesty ;-)
Whoa, Giant Bomb rarely hand out perfect score. 4 more days to experience Greatest Nate adventure.
And one last time.
My tears are ready!
A 5/5 from GB? Damn!!
Yeah, thats basically a shock coming from them! Let's face it people, we have a very polished diamond on our hands here!
It deserves it.
Oh look, another perfect score
Another fresh 10. Let's throw it on this giant pile of 10's with the rest of them. Lmao! Are you not entertained!??
Ahehe Are you not entertained?
Certainty don't see full scores from Giantbomb often. Can't wait to play the game and see for myself how it holds up.
https://www.youtube.com/wat... Me on Uncharted 4 neck deep during exams!
."To say it’s the best-looking game on PlayStation 4 feels like doing it a disservice. It’s the best-looking video game I’ve ever seen on any console, from the expressive faces to the realistic animations to a wide variety of stunning environments." Add to its dominance by also being the undisputed king of graphics this generation.
Perfect score almost everywhere amazing. Well we all know who going to win alot of awards this year.
I'm really happy about the praise Uncharted is getting and really looking Forward to complete Nate's journey BUT I'm more concerned about the trend of the industry of turning ND into the new Zelda team where all games get's a 10 even when there's flaws into the game. Review should be about the value of the WHOLE product and take into account the same judging criteria as the others game. Exemple This game got praise for a incredible single player but a serviceable multiplayer yet games that are aimed toward multiplayer (halo, Cod, etc) often get slammed by review because the single player is serviceable! Another exemple would be cons that affects other review seem to not affect his game: How many time have I seen in review that certain level seem to drag or it's getting repetitive etc affect the score? (go see the main complains for Alien isolation) But here it's a foot note. Again I love Uncharted (have all games plus the ps4 collection) But It's starting to get clear that ND is getting the zelda treatment where every release is the best in the series until the next one come out and highlight the flaws in the previous one.
Its a fantastic game made by fantastic developers. Nobody is giving Naughty Dog a free pass.
Well Zelda games are some of the greatest games ever. How could anyone score a 10 if the standard is Zelda and Uncharted 4? That seems impossible for nearly every game. That's why a game doesn't have to be absolutely positively perfect to score it. There would literally never be a 10 for any game if we held them all to these standards.
How could anyone score a 10 if the standard is Zelda? - Then a 10 should be at least on par with Zelda or Uncharted 4 But how come a zelda can score a 10 http://ca.ign.com/articles/... When all Zelda release after that seem to the reviewer way better and more fun (wind wake and link between world) http://ca.ign.com/articles/... My point is Zelda Skyward Sword is a good game but it's far from perfect if you look at the user score.
How many reviews have you read because most reviews I've read say the mp is very good and should provide entertainment for months and months after the sp is dusted and finished
Actually the one on giant Bomb from this article "Multiplayer is present once again, and “present” basically sums up how I feel about it." "they’re nothing that’ll make Uncharted 4 the multiplayer game of choice for most shooter fans" "Uncharted 4 isn’t a perfect game...it runs a couple of chapters too long, some of the puzzles feel uninspired, and its multiplayer component is serviceable but largely forgettable"
"Review should be about the value of the WHOLE product and take into account the same judging criteria as the others game." And that is what they do, except some games do stuff better than others. Also, this game has SP and MP. It's a complete package and worth every penny. "Exemple This game got praise for a incredible single player but a serviceable multiplayer yet games that are aimed toward multiplayer (halo, Cod, etc) often get slammed by review because the single player is serviceable" That's because their latest campaigns have been shit, and thus it must be highlighted and taken into account. Uncharted 4 has a great story, and a serviceable MP that is also good and fun, and bang for anyone's money. If the MP os good, it should be highlighted as well and count toward the score. What does this have to do with halo and COD having shit campaign? "Another exemple would be cons that affects other review seem to not affect his game: How many time have I seen in review that certain level seem to drag or it's getting repetitive etc affect the score? (go see the main complains for Alien isolation) But here it's a foot note." Care to link any review where that has been pointed out? Uncharted has never suffered from bad level design, tho the first game was repetitive. It's another thing ND has got right that other devs couldn't. All games have flaws, but the positives always overcome the negatives if they are minor
Sure Uncharted 4 isn’t a perfect game...it runs a couple of chapters too long, some of the puzzles feel uninspired, and its multiplayer component is serviceable but largely forgettable From : Giantbomb (you can find the link just below the title of this article) Do you want me to point you to Gamespot for the review of Alien where the review is 6 when the fans score it 8?
If you are actually a fan of Naughty Dog's work, you'd know that they aren't getting "the zelda treatment". They've earned these scores. I've been told by numerous sources that a perfect score doesn't necessarily equate to a perfect game. Those nitpicks you mentioned are exactly that. Critics feel the need to counterbalance solely because of the first point, that nothing is "perfect". Alien Isolation's instances of repetition or dragging may have been much more glaring than Uncharted's, hence a score discrepancy. As far as Halo getting slammed for its sp, seemed to me like the opposite happened, most reviewers let slide the shortcomings of the sp because the mp turned out so well. Halo 5 had what is apparently the worst campaign in its history, and yet it still ended up w/ a Metacritic score in the 80's, so obviously there isn't some huge leap here. The main difference being that Halo has a fairly even focus in fan interest between its sp & mp whereas Uncharted has an overwhelmingly larger number of fans only focused on the sp. Also the mp may be a bit bare bones now because they will be expanding upon it. There are issues w/ reviews these days, that much is for sure. This game is not one of those instances that highlight them as Naughty Dog are proven masters at the craft, and if you are truly as big a fan as you claim to be, you'd understand that right now and focus on the promise of the game instead of going off on some tangential agenda.
I was hoping Jeff Gertsmann was going to write this review , but Dan Rykert did write a lot of reviews for 'Game Informer' before coming to 'Giant Bomb'. I hope Dan and Jeff did the 'Uncharted 4 Quick Look' video together .
Shocking!! Coming from Gamespot and GB. Holy shit.
Gamespot and Giant Bomb rarely gives out full marks. Wow.
These are rare reviews. This is coming from sites which hardly give perfect scores. So it's pretty special.
Another one! https://thumbs.gfycat.com/A... So tempted to know what Gerstmann thinks of the game. He's been very critical of a lot of games for while now.
A perfect score from a tough reviewer.
Many others though reviewers have gave the game a perfect score too. Is just a masterpiece.
The last time I remember a game getting so many perfect score was with Bloodborne and The Last of Us. Can't wait to play U4. This game deserves a holiday so everyone can play it in peace without having to go to work or study.
I'm glad the main story is long as I'm a story driven gamer. I don't do to much online MP anymore
