Bwahaha. WTF VGChartz?
http://m.au.ign.com/article...
So MS have sold almost 3 million units through to consumers this year huh? BS.
Still, whatever helps you sleep at night I guess. It'll be funny to see the regulars in here trying to throw out figures with no proof, downplay the difference and complain about sales in a sales article.

That's why VHC use these made-up numbers anyway. Traffic by deception. ;)

Software_Lover1114d ago

Damn, what Microsoft supposedly sells gets you this upset? It's not that serious.

Kreisen1114d ago

He must be salty Uncharted 4 is doing so well.

darthv721114d ago

At this point it really makes no difference what the numbers are. If the were as close as 1mil difference then I could see it really being under the microscope. But it's roughly a 2:1 ratio so why even bother.

People should just discuss games coming out instead of numbers that aren't nearly as fun to play.

never4get1114d ago

Windows Gaming Console would replace Xbox. Rest in Peace Xbox.

ThePope1114d ago

A random source that says 18 million is so much more believable than a random source saying 21 million. HAHA

MasterCornholio1114d ago (Edited 1114d ago )

So we should rely on official numbers from Microsoft?

I wish we had numbers so we could actually argue over something that really exists instead of made up numbers from VG charts.

ThePope1114d ago (Edited 1114d ago )

All I am saying is the low numbers are 100% true, the high numbers 100% false. At the end I play several online games and have never had trouble finding a game. That's all that matters.

Also those who care about numbers and don't own both consoles are missing the whole point of this hobby. Sure I like to brag that I get to use the X1 controller which is the best one ever made. But if you think my loyalty would ever have me missing UC, Soma, or any other PS4 exclusive I want to play you are high.

mcstorm1114d ago

@ThePope so dose this mean that the PS4 is the casual console of this gen and the WiiU is the real gamers console as one sells a lot more then the other ;-p Joking aside we all know the PS4 is selling amazing numbers. The xbox one is selling very well compaied to last gen and the WiiU sales could do with being a lot better. That said the games we are getting from all 3 are amazing again. UC4, Quantum Break and StarFox over the last month are 3 great games and 3 games any true gamer should own.

Pongwater1113d ago

Not owning every console is "missing the point of this hobby"?

That's silly.

ThePope1113d ago (Edited 1113d ago )

@pong

Not owning every console out of spite or so you can say YOUR console of choice is better. I don't own a Nintendo product. Not so I can brag but because the games don't appeal to me. This hobby is 100% about the games not which console has sold more lol. How does that even affect you??

And before you say support. The PS4 has an almost 2-1 lead and outside of indies and Japenese games. The PS4 gets nothing it doesn't pay for.

@LostDjinn

Agreed. MS and their cohorts use 'estimates' as a shield and come up with figures like these. The truth is closer to between 15 and 18 million maximum. At the rate the PS4 has been selling, it is more than likely to be well over the 40 million mark now and I am pretty certain this benchmark has been confirmed.

Microsoft have refused to give their sold-through numbers for a very long time now and even stopped giving their shipped to retailers numbers for a year now so how VGChartz is able to conjure up such precise figures is beyond me or anyone else for that matter. What is also glaringly obvious is how the games sales do not reflect the possibility of the hardware sales that are claimed by MS or VGChartz. Either that or there are millions of Xbox One owners who just refuse to buy games for their consoles.

Wanting accurate figures has little to do with fanboyism but rather more to do out of genuine interest in the console market. Certainly for me anyway. The truth is that Microsoft has been shifting the goalposts over the last two years as initiative after initiative has failed to generate sales and and no amount of PR, hype or the self described "greatest lineup of games in Xbox history" has appeared to make a difference to the status of the Xbox One in relation to the PS4.

TFJWM1113d ago

VGChartz has always used shipped #s for the Xbox One and Sold Thru for PS4...was pretty easy to spot when their #s would match the official sources(back when we got shipped from MS)

True to form...there they are.
Nice work everybody.

Someone is continuing to push VGChartz made up numbers again, it never stops.

MrSwankSinatra1114d ago

You know fanboys have to find validation and what better way than to use made up numbers to push their agenda?

DivineAssault 1114d ago

While i dont think theyre accurate, i know PS4 is winning in hardware and software..

asadachi1114d ago

That's a true statement. Still, looks like someone downvoted you because fanboys are rampant on all sides.

DivineAssault 1113d ago

Just the nature of N4G unfortunately

deafdani1113d ago (Edited 1113d ago )

Hardware, yes. Software, it's a matter of opinion, but at least where exclusives are concerned, they still have a fair bit of catching up to do against the Wii U.

Uncharted 4 and Ratchet & Clank (and Bloodborne last year) are a very good start.

On the third party support side, PS4 is golden.

Edit: wait, maybe you mean software sales? Sorry, I was talking about software quality.

DivineAssault 1112d ago (Edited 1112d ago )

Are you joking or serious? I hope not the latter.. There are so many PS4 exclusives from 3rd and 1st party that its not even funny

deafdani1112d ago (Edited 1112d ago )

I'm serious. Yes, I know the PS4 has a lot of exclusives, but I was talking about quality exclusives. In that area, it's pretty easy to argue that the Wii U has the PS4 beat by a wide margin.

Although it's possible that won't last much longer, because the Wii U is basically dead now and next year it's getting replaced by NX, whereas PS4 probably has a few more good years of life left to catch up and surpass it with exclusives.

But as of right now? Yeah, no... Wii U has more critically acclaimed exclusives than PS4 and Xbox One combined.

DivineAssault 1111d ago

I get what your saying.. I have wii u and PS4 but the software sales of PS4 are the highest of all.. 3rd party n all

PSN_ZeroOnyx1114d ago

Where is the source considering M$ refuses to give sold through numbers? M$ have even been tight lipped about shipped numbers for over a year now.

MasterCornholio1114d ago

Well there are the MAUs which some people use to determine how many they sold. But i have no idea how they do that.

PSN_ZeroOnyx1114d ago

People using MAUs have no idea either so you're good.
