You Died: The Dark Souls Companion is a look back at the original Dark Souls from developer From Software, a game which still remains relevant today despite its five years of age.
"Dark Souls: Archthrones is like playing a brand new FromSoftware game, and that speaks volumes about just how much good modding can do," says Hanzala from eXputer.
Parrying has been creeping into more games, with almost every high-profile title of the last few years featuring it in some way. Why?
i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)
I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.

Since when did 5 years of age make a good game irrelevant in the first place?XD Kinda silly if you ask me...
BTW, semi-unrelated, but does anyone remember the neat little Dark Souls Easter egg they hid in Borderlands 2?
I enjoyed finding that one; using the acid bubbles to get some huge air time before hot-footing it across the acid lake to reach the hidden camp site was a fun little diversion.
That would have been amazing to fight him after the last boss, and give a reason for ng+. Whether you kill him or not, he graciously bows to you as the hero, bit laughs as you begin to fade. You can hear his voice, as he again drops you in your cell, saying "have fun...again!"
This would be how you start the ng+ mode. Anyway, some of these ideas have been implemented into DS3 w nocs, invasions etc.
