Hitman Episode 2 Review (Xbox One) - Gamer Professionals

Ben Eberle, Associate News Editor for Gamer Professionals, writes:

"Episode 2 of Hitman begins in the center of the small fictional Italian town of Sapienza, with Agent 47 reading a newspaper on a bench. This sets the tone for what will be a far more low-key endeavor than the previously released Paris mission. Sapienza is a beautiful seaside town, full of gorgeous houses and small cafes. Agent 47’s mission is to infiltrate a villa and stop a deadly virus from being manufactured by the Ether Corporation. Two targets must be eliminated, as well as the virus itself."

Sapienza looks like a fun place to explore. I'm going to have to check it out!

It's good, it looks pretty, but it feels very familiar, like a hotchpotch of well trod location types. Also, the fact that it's based by the sea actually has no gameplay use to it (unless you count pushing people in the water where their bodies can't be seen) which is a shame. The lab is very easy to get in to, getting there doesn't have the tenseness of getting to the auction in Paris. But once you're in there it's nice to walk around in a hazard suit. The level is so large that always evading capture, apart from if you don't handle the lab section well, is very easy. The question is can you avoid a crime being spotted or being hunted in contracts mode. I've created about a dozen- PS username is Springyard.

This has great attention to detail. Great missions to get lost in.

It’s the 25th anniversary this year?

I’d have assumed it would have gotten something like a remastered trilogy of the original games or a remake of the first game. Something for a 25th celebration.

A Deep Dive On all Things Hitman With The Voices Behind Agent 47 And Diana Burnwood

From PSU: "Ten years ago, the Hitman franchise was in a transitory state. Blood Money had become something of a classic and with Hitman Absolution there was a clear decision to push IO Interactive’s assassination sim series to a whole new level. That experimental, often divisive, entry turned out to be pivotal in what would follow.

Elements of Absolution, such as its accessibility and player-created content, would be mixed with the more traditional Hitman games’ sense of murderous creativity to birth the Hitman Trilogy 0f 2016-2021. A series that would take its creators on a turbulent journey of publisher changes, independence, and the eventual triumph of being handed the tantalizing 007 license."
