Dishonored 2’s cast promises a blockbuster in the making

Joe from GamersFTW writes: Any fans of the Dishonored series will happy this week. The release date was announced for the game this week, and now more and more details about the highly anticipated sequel to the 2012 stealth adventure are making themselves known. Honestly, for a game that prides itself on its stealth mechanics it’s not being very shy and sticking to the shadows lately.

LOL they got Stephen Russell for Corvo, that's fantastic and hilarious. Square took away Thief from him and ruined the franchise and now he's the star of a game which was heavily inspired by Thief.

Glad Sam Rockwell got a part. Very underused actor in Hollywood especially for Comedy films.

I really enjoyed the first Dishonored game and looks like they are pulling out all the stops for the next instalment. Can't wait to hear more!

I hope it's better than the first one. Even the Thief reboot was better than Dishonored and it was pretty bad. Couldn't even manage to finish Dishonored I got so bored with it. Same with Bioshock, which also plagerized good games poorly. Besides COD, Dishonored and Bioskock are the two most overrated games I can think of, but to each their own. That's why we make choices.

Differing opinions are fine and all, and I don't really care either way, but please, if you're going to use a big word like "plagiarize," please, at least take six seconds from your busy day to check a dictionary to make certain you are using it correctly. Otherwise someone like me will have to spend six seconds pointing out that you did not, and who needs that embarrassment?

Dishonored was just a badly mishmashed Thief/Assassins Creed with no originality and it lietrally copied almost every stealth aspect Thief was known for. Bioshock also had gameplay which was stolen almost verbatim from Doom, from the keycard data pads right down to the creepy noises and other random atmospheric events keeping people on their toes between watercooler moments (no pun intended). You can put a cow in a dress, but at the end of they day it's still a cow. They were both about as unoriginal as they come. "Would you kindly" go bother someone else if you want to make off topic comments in the future?

Did they replace the VA for The Outsider? I thought the original actor did a pretty good job.

One of my biggest art heroes. His work and vision were truly one of a kind, and he’s been a huge inspiration to my own work. Such a heartbreaking loss.

Remember seeing Dishonored for the first time when it released, fell in love with the art style straight away, so striking! And because of it, still holds up and will for years to come, RIP Viktor

JEECE124d ago

Yep I remember seeing some of the earliest concept art for Dishonored and hearing that the art director of Half-Life 2 was working on it and being excited.

And you are absolutely right, each of those games (HL2 and Dishonored) has a distinct art style that stands the test of time.

So sad to hear this. I absolutely love the Dishonored series and love the world and art style. It looks great and unique. I'm still hoping for a Dishonored 3

RIP Viktor love your work

Ethereal124d ago

Damn... Dishonored has such amazing art. RIP.

Arkane Co-Founder Says Dishonored and Prey Fans 'Will Be Happy' With His Next Game

WolfEye Studios president and co-founder of Arkane Studios Raphaël Colantonio has said Dishonored and Prey fans “will be happy” with his new studio's next game.

Can’t wait to see what they’re working on

Relientk77317d ago

If it's something like Dishonored, then I am totally here for it.

TheNamelessOne317d ago

Let's hope. Their first game, Weird West, really wasn't my thing.

Miacosa317d ago

Ouch, already placing a sales cap on this is potentially bad as these games never seem to sell all too well. Hopefully the budget is in check so no one gets laid off after launch.

Psychonaut85317d ago

Fuck yeah. Even if it’s just a spiritual successor I want more titles like Dishonored in terms of art style, design and gameplay
