Fire Emblem characters in a music-inspired RPG with open world elements makes for something weird and wonderful.
While Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE is easily recognized as a Shin Megami Tensei spinoff, it fails to present itself as the crossover it is meant to be.
It was way too much idol culture which idk why they thought itd be a great idea for an smt/fe crossover. I honestly wish they just made it to be a highschool/academy style of game like persona. So much potential it had but its whatever. The game was just ok.
The problem is when this was first announced it was literally Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem. All they needed to do was keep the Fire Emblem strategy gameplay and incorporate Shin Megami Tensei elements and aesthetics. Or hell, somehow collide the universes together with Fire Emblem gameplay.
What we got was really out of left field with such a mashup. I think that’s why it’s disappointing for those expecting Fire Emblem in this game.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is coming back! In 2020, Nintendo is bringing its collaboration with Atlus to the Switch. As is common with these Wii U ports, a little something extra is being added in for the encore performance. But what should someone expect in general, in the event they missed the RPG the first time around? Well, it is something that is a lot more like Persona than either Fire Emblem or Shin Megami Tensei.
It doesn't take much to get people riled up. The next thing folks know, there's outrage over some gameplay element, design decision, or character. Here are ten times a big deal was made over the silliest sorts of things in games.
Forgot the whole 'RE5 is racist" because you have a white character killing black zombies in a country mostly populated by black people.
No IGN,just no.
Could be a GOTY contender. Won Dengekis best rpg award in japan.
All PAX East hands on previews have been overwhelmingly positive
