Fallout 4 Mods Can't Be Free On Consoles - Fallout Vault 1000

There is only one way that fallout 4 mods will ever work on consoles and that is if they charge money for them. Free mods on consoles will never happen.

They will have to review the code for each mod to make sure it isnt doing anything bad. This review will require a programmers time which wont be free, so they will have to get the money somewhere. If people discover that running a certain command will let you inject a file into the OS that lets you run pirated games or whatever it will be a lot of trouble.

Unreal Tournament 3 on PS3 says hi. For that game proved that mods can be done on consoles free of charge. They just want to rip off console gamers no matter what. No PC gamers will never accept paid mods.

The only limitations that have been established on Fallout 4 mods for the consoles is that they be made with the GECK (so as to not cause problems with the system or main game files) and with compatibility in mind. Other than that, they are free. I don't know what the hell this guy is smoking.

1. You clearly don't have a clue of how license agreements between end users and publishers, work generally. To "flip" a switch, an agreement on the issue must exist in the first place, in this scenario where you're fear mongering Bethesda to be the boogeyman, "PAID MODS".

2. This is a discussion about the "opinion piece" on the imaginary "paid mods" returning from the grave, despite the publisher confirming otherwise, multiple times. You don't have to buy a season pass for mods to work. It's an asinine notion to even think about. If you somehow meant that Bethesda charging for DLC is new, you're probably new to the Fallout series since Bethesda took over. There were 5 DLC's for Fallout 3, and 4 DLC's for Fallout: New Vegas (I'm talking about campaign DLC's alone, there are item/weapon packs as well, which are different from this), priced at $10 each. This season pass isn't any different (apart for Bethesda increasing the price and being dickheaded greedy fucks, of course).

For all others who're spelling doom & gloom on this issue

Consumers modding their games is Bethesda's USP on the PC platform (which they now like to extend over to consoles as well through their own GUI with easy access, as consoles are a closed platform and access to game files for modders is near impossible at the moment unless you're a developer with their proprietary SDK). Unlike the new Doom with it's "SnapMap" interface, this is just an extension to help modders, port their work to all platforms, and NOT A REPLACEMENT for legacy modding through injections. Modders now have the choice to use this and release for all platforms or stick with old school modding. Doom, on the other hand forces modders to use their Halo Forge ripoff, named "SnapMap" (technically not a ripoff but a 2.0, considering Certain Affinity are filled with ex Halo devs) and want control over every mod released out to the public. No modder can release a mod without the developer's consent/approval. If there's ANY chance of mods going paid (taste of your own medicine - FEAR MONGERING), it's Doom and it's "SnapMap".

Mods are all free. They're going to be available through a system created by Bethesda so they can easily be accessed. Mods will be created on the PC using the creation suite they're launching and then shared to consoles.
