Quantum Break UK's best-selling boxed game and best-selling new Microsoft Studios IP this generation

Quantum Break is the UK's best-selling boxed game.

While Remedy's action shooter is out on Windows 10 and Xbox One, sales tracked by Chart-Track are for the Xbox One version only. Chart-Track does not include download sales in its report.

Quantum Break only just beat Codemasters' Dirt Rally to top spot. Dirt Rally launched on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last week, and Quantum Break's single platform sales beat it by just 139 sales.

Chart-Track said Dirt Rally beat launch week sales of 2012's Dirt Showdown by 197 per cent. But it's third in launch week sales terms compared to other games in Dirt series, behind Colin McRae: Dirt 2 and Dirt 3.

"UPDATE: Microsoft has said Quantum Break is now the best-selling new Microsoft Studios IP this generation, as well as being the best-selling boxed game in the UK this week."

Damn Daniel...

Congrats to Remedy

starchild3021d ago

That's good news. I definitely hope to see more from Remedy.

Rookie_Monster3021d ago (Edited 3021d ago )

Dang....great work! Congrat Remedy and MS.

Also, Dirt Rally also did amazing as the runner up.

"It’s an impressive debut for the title beating launch week sales of 2012’s ‘Dirt Showdown’ by an impressive 197%"

UK sure loves their racers.

DARK WITNESS3021d ago (Edited 3021d ago )

When they say that I have to ask...

what other major AAA New IP has MS released from their studios this gen? I don't think QB has had much competition in that department

demonddel3021d ago

Bout the same as Sony if you talking about AAA releases

christocolus3021d ago (Edited 3021d ago )

Did you even read the article?

“That means it's outsold the likes of Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive, Crytek's Ryse, Project Spark and Ori and the Blind Forest, all new Microsoft Studios IP that launched this generation.”

DARK WITNESS3021d ago

@ christocolus

Well that's why I said AAA, I prob have my definetion of AAA a bit messed up but games like Ori and project spark didn't spring to mind at all.

Fez3021d ago (Edited 3021d ago )

If you look into the numbers it might not be that impressive. Even the best selling boxed game for the week might not mean much if there was no other competition. But, I'm not bothered about the interpretation of numbers - I'm just happy that a SP experience can still bring in good sales figures.

Get rid of that 'open world is better' nonsense.

whoyouwit043021d ago

I think that would be a better question if it was geared towards Sony.

Sunny_D3020d ago

I mean it wasn't that hard to beat those games when those games were launch titles or close to it where there was no sizable install base to buy those games in the first place.

Great news. I'm so happy reading this. Glad xbox/Remedy fans supported QB. Those who have played Alan Wake or even Max Payne 1 and 2 are familiar with Remedys style. They are an amazing studio and they've always had a unique way of telling stories in games and QB deserves all the sales it can get. I hope we'll get a sequel to Alan wake now and hopefully a sequel to QB down the line.

Great job guys.

Seafort3021d ago

I'll support Remedy on PC once they bring their games to something other than Windows Store.

Until that day my money and support goes elsewhere.

t-hall7853021d ago

@seafort. See ya later man. Keep on crying while the game keeps on selling.

butchertroll3021d ago (Edited 3021d ago )

Looks like QB numbers are low ( and everything else ) :

Around 27k or less :

http://m.neogaf.com/showthr...

For instance : Alan Wake 36k, The Order 1886 >40k, Bloodborne >42k

Gazondaily3021d ago

Err...read the thread and its just people guessing?

DLConspiracy3021d ago

Shouldn't we be comparing it to games that remedy has created? What do the other games have to do with QB?

Unless we are directly comparing it to other platforms games to try and undermine it's success. Ohhhhh I see what's going on. Nevermind. We are finding ways to devalue the games success. My bad.

butchertroll3021d ago (Edited 3021d ago )

It's not peoples guessing. Read the post #63 and 68

Ok then, between 27k-28k. And also bundles are included in UK PAL charts.

FITgamer3021d ago

What other new IP has Microsoft Studios released this gen?

...

I mentioned Alan Wake, didn't i?

thekhurg3021d ago

Why is this Microsoft article in the PS4 channel?

Lon3wolf3021d ago

It's not just about QB:

Quantum Break only just beat Codemasters' Dirt Rally to top spot. Dirt Rally launched on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One last week, and Quantum Break's single platform sales beat it by just 139 sales.

Chart-Track said Dirt Rally beat launch week sales of 2012's Dirt Showdown by 197 per cent. But it's third in launch week sales terms compared to other games in Dirt series, behind Colin McRae: Dirt 2 and Dirt 3. (DiRT Rally, PC, PS4, Quantum Break, Xbox One)

Tdmd3021d ago

To "gloat",I guess? I was wondering the same thing.

t-hall7853021d ago

@thekhurg because its about sales...lol
