I don't think that it's surprising. I mean when Japan starts a trend, it'll hold onto it for a long time and the recent trend here is yokai watch.
I dont think Star Ocean has been big for a while. Especially since the last one was exclusive to the 360, which flopped in Japan.
I guess the Japanese are actually pissed off due to Star Ocean 5 censorship. #StopFeminazis
