The actual online gameplay of DOOM is everything fans of old-school shooters want. Novelty-sized guns, smooth-as-butter movement, and plenty of blood. The game moves lightning quick, rarely leaving time to navigate or recover without being thrown back into combat. The player movement isn’t slow either, as everyone is locked into what feels like a constant sprint. This is by no means a bad thing. Compensating for the speed of other players, as well as your own, keeps combat interesting and especially thrilling..
Discover 10 timeless video games from the past that remain absolutely playable today. From Chrono Trigger to DOOM, these classics have aged like fine wine!
Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.
Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.
The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.
The video game industry is already so creative, but one thing that can be improved is its handling of space.
After watching Scavengers Reign? The answer is unequivocally yes. I really want something out of left field but I think people are too afraid to shake things up.
It's what I love about Shadowrun and Black Mirror. Love, Death, and Robots proved that there's an audience for stuff that doesn't fit the mold.
The iconic demon-slaying shooter just got a corporate makeover—perfect for pretending to work!
I think it'll take some time before (upon release ofc) for it to hit the strides, even more so with the editing tools.
Doom is meant to be a game where you mindless murder demons and get to the end of each level, nothing more or less.
MP is meant to be just chaotic, fast-paced and brutal, nothing more or less.
Expecting more is just silly, this is Doom - a franchise that gave birth to a genre we all know and love :)
In comparison to Doom 3's multiplayer this game is a huge steaming pile of garbage in my opinion. The guns all suck except the shotgun and are all a huge step back from Doom 3. They should have used Doom 3's multiplayer as a foundation and built and improved on that. Doom 3 multiplayer is still one of my favorite online games to this day. Really hope it's added to backward compatability soon.
What is with the hit points coming off of players when they are attacked? Does anyone else find that ridiculously annoying and view-obstructing?
Don't think of this as a Doom multiplayer mode: Think of it as a spiritual successor to Quake and Unreal Tournament. It's the only way it clicked in my head.
