Would You Buy a Nintendo Vs. Capcom?

Heck we sure would, and it seems we not be the only one. Street Fighter Producer recently stated that not only would he love to see more Street Fighter characters in Super Smash Bros, but being able to work on a Nintendo Vs. Capcom would be a dream project.

* 2D Sprite Nintendo vs Capcom with 50-60 characters would be amazing.

Would be a system seller for the NX for sure.

Hoffmann3346d ago

If it would be on a non-Nintendo console like the Playstation 4 or the PC?

Yes..most likely.

wonderfulmonkeyman3346d ago (Edited 3346d ago )

No, most likely not.

You've made it pretty clear over time that you despise Nintendo, compared to AAA third parties.

All it'd take is a couple of highly-hyped AAA third party games releasing, for you to entirely skip a Nintendo VS Capcom game.
And if you did get it, you'd probably get it used to avoid paying Nintendo a cent, which would only kill the game's sales off quicker and contribute to rising proof that Nintendo has no future as a third party.

Such a game is better off staying on Nintendo systems, where actual Nintendo fans will be.

Hoffmann3346d ago

...but are Capcom fans on the Nintendo systems?

:-)

rjason123346d ago

Well no wonder when capcom has only released 2 ports for the Wii U and that's all, megaman collection would've been a great fit, so would of the resident evil remasters, but they didn't even give the system a chance.

gamerb63346d ago

Lol troll get out of here and get a life

ChickeyCantor3346d ago

> ...but are Capcom fans on the Nintendo systems?

Monsterhunter says hi.

Hoffmann3346d ago

What's one game series compared with almost their whole game lineup of the last 20 years being released on non-nintendo sytems.

benji1013346d ago

I am pretty sure the poor sales of SF5 and the dlc sales of Ryu for Smash are the reason the Dev is thinking about this. Nintendo is the home of the Japanese multiplayer. Sales of Multiplayer Japanese games on wii u smash all other platforms this gen 10 to 1.

Hoffmann3346d ago (Edited 3346d ago )

dlcs are easy to sell if there are only like 10-15 non-indie are games coming for a console in a whole year. There is no real competition for smash on the console.

And if SFV would have been as WiiU game but it would be the same crap than on ps4 and pc its sales wouldnt be good on the wiiU either.

SFV's problems are not the platforms, its the missing content.

Ck1x3346d ago

Lol, you could have just said no I only buy Call of Duty!

Hoffmann3346d ago

Fun Fact: I never bought a Call of Duty game and only played the first part of that series back on PS2 a few times.War games like those or the Medal of Honor ones don't interest me.

The only fps I play are the classic chaotic ones with labyrinth like levels like in the classic Doom and Quake games. And Borderlands..if that counts as fps.

Hoffmann3346d ago

I don't remember anyone asking for Capcom vs SNK being exclusive for the NeoGeo back in 2000.

wonderfulmonkeyman3346d ago

If you include handhelds?
Yes.

Monster Hunter alone shows Capcom has a fanbase to sell to on Nintendo systems.

And if they can make their games sell on Nintendo handhelds, they can do the same on NX.

Nice try, buh-bye.

Hoffmann3345d ago

And if they can make their games sell on Nintendo handhelds, they can do the same on NX.

...lets talk about that one again when we have confirmed information about the hardware even.

buh bye

SSB4 may be the closest we'll ever get to this concept. I doubt Nintendo would allow a game where their cast of characters fight Capcom's cast of characters in a more traditional fighter. That would diminish the appeal of the Super Smash Bros series.

Big_Game_Hunters3346d ago

Smash bros is the most popular fighting game currently.

PhoenixUp3346d ago

Yeah I know. We already have two Capcom characters fighting an entire cast of Nintendo characters along with 2 SEGA characters, 1 Bandai Namco character, and 1 Square Enix character in SSB4.

That's what I believe will be the closest we'll get to this concept

SactoGamer3346d ago

I think I'd probably pick up a copy.

Capcom reveals its PC game [digital] sales overshadow console, and it's only growing

The earnings reports of Capcom's Fiscal year 2024 showcase the growth of PC over console, with 60% of game sales being made on the former.

Vits8d ago

What’s interesting is that, given how well their games sell, it’s very likely most of them fall into the 25/75 revenue split bracket. The larger ones, like Monster Hunter, are in the 20/80 bracket.

So even accounting for the vastly superior regional pricing on PC, I wouldn’t be surprised if revenue-wise from digital sales, both platforms are close, or if PC is ahead as well.

neutralgamer19927d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Yes PC is the biggest platform and it has definitely improved as a home console of sort plug and play. It's the only platform with actual freedom for gamers with modding. I was a console gamer for over 38 years and now I only play on Pc. Whether you are buying pre-built or building it yourself it's now easier than ever before to jump in

And my experience with pc gamers has been excellent, they are helpful with any questions on pc boards

FPS_D3TH7d ago

As a gamer who also loves replaying his old favorite titles, possibly with a few mods as well, I can’t imagine ever getting another console.

Profchaos7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

They spoke about resident evil and monster hunter I would actually find the monster hunter breakdown more interesting tbh as I've always felt like this game would be at home on PC

but for resident evil it's always felt like a PlayStation mainstay despite having exclusivity elsewhere likely because it was where I first played it. The game feels like it's begging to be played lights off in the loungeroom late at night or also in VR I've never been as scared as I was playing re7 in VR

dveio7d ago (Edited 7d ago )

Is this really suprising? Looking at the evolution of the Switch, X|S and Playstation 5?

Eonjay7d ago

The biggest cause is probably the lack of game purchases on the Xbox platform. Also keep in mind this is only digital sales so there is a chunk of sales not being shown here.
