He can definitely run in some sections so seems weird to not allow you to do it whenever you want. Hardly going to stop me buying the game though.

bouzebbal3321d ago

to differentiate between the intense and exploration moments.
Nathan starts to sprint during a fight, and jogs during exploration.
TLoU had the same and the game felt more dynamic this way

ShadowKnight3321d ago

I remember the last of us had a sprint button and you could use it anytime you want

Nitrowolf23321d ago

TLOUS had a sprint button....

Either way uc3 had a sprint in multi-player and like stated, it was bad. Running and gunning all day.

inmusicutrust3321d ago

Last of us had a run button(L3) but there were times like in the quarentine zone in the beginning you couldn't use it iirc. But it was usable 99% of the game.

Flewid6383321d ago

For the most part though, you could full sprint in almost any wide open location in TLOU.

Bathyj3321d ago

It could definitely use a run button, but I'd prefer a crouch button.

okmrman3321d ago

Last of us had a run button
Shut the nonsense

You apologize for everything

You can't really judge a game on a vertical slice! This is why reviews should only be made with a finished game.

What Uncharted 2 did really well was in-between the action change pace and have sections of downtown such as when you walk through the Nepalese village. That's probably what's happening here. I'm sure Naughty Dog wouldn't remove a key mechanic that has been a part of the first three games.

Sono4213321d ago

People need to stop bringing up the Last of Us sprint button as a valid point because while it is third person like Uncharted it is a completely different game. If you only sprint around online you will get rekt, hands down. But uncharted 3's online was horrid compared to two because of the sprint mechanic, They made the maps bigger because of it and it ended up making you have to sprint half the map from spawn. The multipayer became all about the sprinting and it ruined it, but omg the Uncharted 4 multiplayer is aamazing, I couldn't stop playing it. So naught dog please don't listen to idiotic articles like these.. keep it the way it is.

SlappingOysters3321d ago

@Sono probably worth pointing out the article has nothing to do with multiplayer.

I love these articles.

"Desperately"?

Yeah, let's not oversell some minor thing here.

1. MP doesn't need it because it keeps everyone on the same playing field.

2. SP has a ton of fast moving options that blow this away and pacing is important in certain areas.

Brugal3320d ago

The only thing Uncharted 4 needs is to be released so we ca all play it.

He runs faster when you are in the middle of s fight.

Teh sprint button in U3 was bad. So no!
Get used to it!

GameDev13321d ago

UC3 had a sprint button? Woah

Cant believe i played the whole campgain without using it once

SoulWarrior3321d ago

Only in the multiplayer, and it was bad as it promoted run n gun CoD style gameplay.

bouzebbal3321d ago

L3 was sprint button in multiplayer.

ravens523321d ago

I think running and gunning takes skills.

madforaday3321d ago (Edited 3321d ago )

Thank you, the sprint button was awful for Uncharted 3. I told myself I wasn't going to play the beta for the MP and I been good. Is there a run button in the MP portion of the game (Uncharted 4)? I am very happy that it is not in the SP portion of the game!

Aloy-Boyfriend3321d ago

no sprint button on U4 mp. They run fast enough

Forn3321d ago

Also, in TLoU, the sprinting feels as fast as jogging in Uncharted 4 without a sprint button, so I'm good with that. The game has an incredible feel to it from what I got when playing the beta.

-Foxtrot3321d ago

Why? Uncharted 1-3 didn't have it and it was horrible in the online

It would just make the game a little easier for people...so nope.

GameDev13321d ago (Edited 3321d ago )

Yeah, doesnt pushing the movement stick automatically make him move faster

I assume this is the authors first time playing an uncharted game

Plus movement in multiplayer beta was fast and awesome
