Nintendo Brought Back the Red Logo

No more bleak grey and white from the Wii era. Nintendo returns to its old red.

In my opinion the console should be red or have red features...an optional one maybe. Least then it will stand out more

I think a full red console would be too bright, at least in my media setup. I'd go for some kind of red light (similar to the PS4's blue light stripe thing) though.

Sony's red is pretty bright based on the controller, although it is a nice shade of red and I brought one.:) The MGSV red was kind of a dark crimson, and it was really nice. But I love those darker shades of red myself.

Black is usually my preferred color for the entertainment system though.

The purest and best form of marketing...Let everyone know you are serious about your company. They're sticking to their guns and using the original logo as a sort of way to say that Nintendo is coming back reborn, and stronger than ever.

Excellent and simple Business/Marketing move. Love it. Gets the consumers hyped just from something so simple before any actual info is revealed!

That one could work too, but they'd need to bring out a sufficiently powerful console in order for people to take it seriously.
Otherwise it could have the opposite effect.

They started this re-branding from since last year in a lot of retail stores. "Wii U" and "3DS" sections were removed and replaced with "Nintendo", along with new renders of their popular characters against a red background. Now they've recreated the logo with the same pattern. It looks good!

Red is one of the most used colors to attract attention. You're automatically going to notice it, even if you're not looking for it (that's why stop signs are red, and most warning signs have red somewhere). PS Blue, XBOX Green, and Nintendo Red. Nice!

See, this already it's creating a positive impact on the consumers, means that they are serious to compete with Sony and Microsoft. This for some reason gives hope to the Nintendo fans outthere that they are gonna be aggresive like the snes days.
For some reason I see them as hungry to compete.

Not to mention Red really is noticeable even if you are not looking directly at it.

RGB. PlayStation is Blue (used to be SEGA) Xbox is Green and Nintendo back in Red. It feels right.

I always like the Sega blue. Especially on the Saturn Logo where it was a gradient. They like gray as well.

Oddly enough, their last system used red though...and IMO the logo wasn't all that great anyways.

Original PS logo had all three colors...and yellow, and that was my favorite, but the blue is nice...better than the simpler white or black they use now.

Always like Nintendo red though. The gray was just not doing it for me, and lacked a whole bunch of punch.

Been a while since I booted up a DC game, but I do believe that they had the orange logo when a game started up and displayed it.

I think over the course of it's lifespan, the software had both orange and red on the logo section of the cover art though.

Sony has settled on Blue as late PS3 games used blue covers. new PSN logo is blue. Cases on Vita and PS4 and PS3 are blue. Default light on PS4 and Vita is blue. Packaging for the console on PS3 PS4 and PSvita is blue. Default light on DS4 is blue.

You seemed to have missed my point.

Sony only settled on blue this 8th generation. During the 5th, 6th, and 7th gens they used different sets of colors to advertise their platforms.

Meanwhile Microsoft has traditionally stuck to green and SEGA stuck to blue throughout their entire existence in the gaming hardware market. Nintendo for the most part has stuck to red except for the Wii brand and purple for the 6th gen. Those three companies stuck to those colors because it was the primary color of each of their respective mascots.

Sony on the other hand hasn't just stuck to one mascot nor one primary color to market all of their PlayStation subsidiary since 1994.

No fight. Red, Green, and Blue are the primary colors. It's analogous to all three companies are like all three colors. They all are needed to round out the entire spectrum of gaming....and PC is good too I suppose.

Nintendo in aquamarine colour would be nice. Red is not a colour that is in fashion. Aquamarine is in fashion - Frozen, The Little Mermaid, the crystal blue oceans of games like Sea of thieves, Asssasins Creed: Black Flag etc.
