This week’s featured Indie Freebie is 2D platformer I’m Alright. I can’t really explain why, but I was drawn to this game by its curious name and cover art while perusing the catalogue on Game Jolt. But I’m glad I checked it out, because it’s a genuinely intriguing creation.

I love this new attempt to sell a completely underpowered console, with end of life hardware, with no possibility for growth/expansion to another crowd “interested” in indie dev. Ouya tried this and if flopped for a good reason. This new “Atari” group are shady as f peddling something worse than a Gizmdo and Ouya put together for this asking price. (on all angles hardware/software/marketing/la unch/drama).
I wrote a few weeks back that the console is likely D.O.A. due to coming out against a new PS and Xbox System. Pretty much universal agreement here. I had hate Tweets coming at me from a Fanboy with 18 followers. He kept saying I was being unfair and that the system was not as much as we were saying it would be. I said the cost came directly from their P.R. team so who should I believe? Then he comes at me with all the great retro games. I countered with the fact that most of the games are out for other systems and have been for ages. So his final salvo was "well it looks nice" I said I do not need to drop 300 for an item to gather dust when I can put that to a much better console. He blocked me and a person who agreed with me.
