Black Desert Online used April Fools to take a stab at the "butt pose" Tracer controversy from Blizzard's Overwatch.

It's definitely clever. About Tracer, I do think that pose doesn't fit her personality very much.

It's not scandalous by any means, but it seems to me like she wouldn't pose like that.

Have you played Tracer in Overwatch? She's bubbly and cocky. The pose fit her character. It wasn't sexual. She was standing straight up and looking back. Had one person tell me it was sexual because her hip was off to one side....as if standing the way she was could be achieved without doing such a thing.

Never thought the pose was sexual...just more cocky and kind of like, "Yeah, I'm awesome" which is what a spunky girl would do IMO.

Know plenty of crazy funny girls, and they do stupid poses all the time. Selfies on facebook would show that 99% of the girls out there try to do sexy poses...usually without actually being sexy though.

But, yeah, "it doesn't fit her personality". Sometimes I wonder if people even have a clue about how other people behave on a regular basis, or if they're too wrapped up in their own drama to really notice.

I'd be really curious what people who say such a thing would think a light hearted spunky personality would do in any given situation. I'm really curious to see what they replace it with. Probably something just as banal like her doing a little victory jump saying "Yeah!".

i love that it got ppl upset. i love that ppl get upset over nothing. im so glad that i, if i had any emotions left, would not waste them on such small nonsense. i love that this is actually a controversy. im in a loving mood today. the real controversy should be that they did not give her a nicer butt. most girls are freaks anyway, personality means nothing when it comes down to their sexual desire to flirt and be sexy.

Since you're posting a videogame centric forum, I'm gonna assumed you've played a game here or there. Games are rarely meant to be taken seriously, especially if you're just talking about the multiplayer aspect. The sheer amount of customization of your online avatar many times does not fit the "personality" of the character, especially in a game like Overwatch. With so many games that blatantly have scantily clad women for no purpose other than to oversexualize them, this pose being deemed offensive is laughable at best. It's not even like she was bent over or overly accentuating her figure. This whole thing is embarrassing.

The developer created her and has the freedom decide how she behaves. In the end, it is just a videogame! If you and others like you are offended,then stay inside you "safe space."

It is because it is not trivial. There has been a movement going on for quite some time, and anything is susceptible to censorship today. We're not talking about any hateful or racially insensitive imagery. It was a female turned around. It was an optional customization. It doesn't matter whether it fit the character or not. How many times have you played an online [shooter] game that had a plethora of unlockable taunts and clothing that didn't fit the character? That doesn't even fit in to the argument.

Nice play Black Desert. If you look at the forums and the polls, the VAST majority were against removing the pose regardless of what blizzard is saying. If they were to revert back there would be far less outcry than there is now.

At least some companies aren't folding onto, what is essentially, the whims of troubled people.

To put it into perspective for those that might not know, in the UK here, there have been numerous protests performed by girls, regarding what they wear in public - aptly named, "The Slut Walk". They believe they should be able to dress however sexily they desire and behave however they want to without risk to themselves.

With that in mind, all of these people crying murder at not-even-sexy pixels is a massive contradiction.

Personally, I'm annoyed companies cater to these people. When was the last time a book was rewritten because the imaginary overly sexy female character was too vivid in the mind of its reader?

Not sure I understand the protest. Are they not allowed to wear whatever they want? Or are they protesting that wearing provocative clothing gets them unwanted attention?

If it's the latter, I really don't see what a protest is going to do. There are tons of people that don't ever once consider or are in tuned with current feminist ideals, and protesting such things is probably just going to make most of those people think that they're crazy.

If it's the former, well then that's just screwed up. I really don't care what people wear, and most other people don't either, so long as it's appropriate to the place they're in.
