It feels like it's a bullsh*t. If he was streaming live, I bet that somebody just refreshed old account and login to meet him.

Malokii3332d ago

Could be, but ive seen in many mmo games AI which are "smart" enough to predict your typing, and they have answer to your next question. Maybe programmer wanted to put easter egg in case when nobody played this game anymore and someone after those years login and then this person would show up, anyway who knows.

shatens3332d ago

Give me a title of that games where NPCs are that smart :o

cmgs3332d ago

It says vinny at the end, two posibilities,
1. Troll
2. AI that can access player database and call them with their name, 4th wall breaking basically.

Malokii3332d ago

for example:
Realms of Arkania: Online from 1999 has good ai which you cant really tell if this is npc or real player, but there is many more games with good Ai, at least when it comes to speak between players.

shatens3332d ago

Did you mean Realms of Arkania: Blade of Destiny? There's no game Realms of Arkania: Online, lol

SuberMedic3332d ago

YouTube creator of the video stated that it was just some guy role-playing with them, "rather creepily" he added. No NPC or anything.

shatens3332d ago

Yes. The creepy is why this server is still running? :D

MrsNesbitt3332d ago

How are these servers still running if there's nobody playing?

frostypants3332d ago

@MrsNesbitt, because someone was too lazy to pull the plug on the server and it's just sitting in a room somewhere, chugging away and forgotten. Probably.

shatens3332d ago

I'm wondering how many ghost servers like this one exists in corners of the Internet :o

TWB3332d ago

Not exactly a game server but some months ago I discovered that the original websites for this old PS1 game were still online (from a developer that no longer exists as far as I know), must be another case of a "forgotten/ghost server"

The game is Kingsleys Adventures but I dont remember the URL currently.

Really makes me want to know where that server is physically located. It really must be some forgotten POS server that has been buried behind all the newer machines during the years.

KamelonGames3331d ago

in case anyone was wondering... here is the site for kingsleys adventures... but there aint much left :D

Malokii3332d ago

How do you know that ? Because some youtuber said that ? lol

SuberMedic3332d ago

The YouTuber who created the video.

alfaomega3332d ago

Who is the author of video?

ZaWarudo3332d ago

No way in hell this wasn't scripted, that's just too creepy to be random.

Malokii3332d ago

I think it was just some kind of easter egg from programmers, its not possible that 2 players decided to play in same time, specially when this game was last played by gamers more than 15 years ago.

shatens3332d ago

All good selling stories must be scripted :P

Bass_fisherman3332d ago

Things that youtubers do just to get viewers these days

shatens3332d ago

But you have to admit that running server of 20 years old game is pretty sick

Bass_fisherman3332d ago

yeah even tough i never heard about this game before

shatens3332d ago

@bass_fisherman I was 8 when this was released :D

Mr-Dude3332d ago (Edited 3332d ago )

I was 11 when this game came out, good old days. But still, very cool that their servers are still running

shatens3332d ago

Yeah, it shows how they treating the players ;)

Kalebninja3305d ago

pretty sure this was posted before can't find it though.

Ratty3305d ago

It was. A couple weeks ago. A month maybe?

ORyanDeee3304d ago

yeah ive seen it on here before

imahustla193305d ago

it was originaly a post on kotaku.

metalgod883304d ago

You're correct. I actually downloaded the mmo, found the person from the video and talked with them. They had no idea that they were 'famous'. I think that dude from the video was totally blowing the situation out of proportion, but the mmo does have a creepy vibe to it because of the fact that its so empty.

Bimkoblerutso3304d ago (Edited 3304d ago )

Obvious fake, but for some reason I still like watching these things. Not nearly as good as Ben Drowned, though.

TGG_overlord3304d ago

Sure, it was not "The Thing" creepy. Nevertheless, it was pretty creepy for sure.

mEATgrinder3304d ago

Then he said 'Skype me for some real action......'
