Sam from The Gamers Lounge writes "There's not much to say about The Culling, really. It's the kind of game that, if you like arena-based deathmatch shooters, you will probably like. If you don't like multiplayer arena-based deathmatch shooters, you will not like it. That's pretty much the delineation.
Granted, as far as arena-based deathmatch shooters go, I like it a lot more than most, but it's going to be pretty clear when I describe the mechanics whether or not this is your kind of thing."
Interview with Josh Van Veld of Xaviant about the return to Xbox One, Monetization and what's changed within the game for this release.
Disgraceful business practice. The game deserves to fail and it's guaranteed to. You keep patting yourself on the back there Josh but this game wont be making a "comeback" a third time.
You know what's bizzare - their monetization makes lootboxes seem not that bad. I mean, at least you'll be playing the game. Maybe that was the goal?
The idea is out there now, so everyone needs to start watching out for it. If it ever shows up in another game, the community must come together and make it clear that gamers do not want it. It’s the only way we’ll all be able to continue enjoying our online games like we always have.
Sad as it is, you already know someone is going to be dumb enough to defend this pay per match nonsense.
What's next? Pay-per bullet, pay-per ammo refill, Pay-per distance traveled?
I won't even say anymore in gest, don't want to give them ideas
LOL, I've been screaming this since the introduction of MT. This is what you get when people spend billions on cosmetics and xp boosters.
The Culling: Origins is getting relaunched on Xbox on May 14th, but with a new pay-to-play system for online matches.
"pay to play", that's some serious anti-consumer garbage right there. "the new monetisation approach is curious." yeah that's one way to put it.
Wow, that is some next level scummy and dumb honestly. How is the player base ever going to grow with something like this in place? This one deserves to die.
What the f... That is absolutely outrageous and I really hope this fails. FFS
I have a lot of people on Twitch play The Culling and it looks pretty fun.
