EA Sports UFC 2 (2016) PS4 Review | FilmGamesEtc

FGE - More fighting games. I feel like it’s been a pretty big couple of months for the genre with Naruto, Street Fighter, Pokken and now UFC gracing our consoles, though I’m not sure that means a resurgence in quality for beat-em-ups. UFC 2 is the latest in EA’s endless line up of sport simulation titles and this one is about becoming the ultimate fighter. Is UFC 2 the ultimate fighting game this year so far or does it suffer its own cover star curse? Like Ronda Rousey and Conor McGregor, UFC 2 starts off unstoppable but gets knocked out before it reaches true greatness.

Well you need to have some kind of understanding of MMA, button mashers will not survive in this game.

I would give this game 8.5 or 9
Combat online is where it's at.

And go to practice mode to learn how to play.

i think thats where the game loses points as the flaws of the grappling system become most apparent

Weren't grappling systems always flawed in past UFC games?

DEEBO3322d ago

You know i use to think like that too but it really does take alot of practice and plus the kind of fighter you use.

I just get the best grappler in the weight class and set it to the nothing but takedowns.you have to lab and learn the moves.

I think people are waiting for the moves to show up then hit the stick but they need to know when and where to use the the stick.

It's harder then the last one cause you need to hit more buttons but when you learn the game it's like second nature.

The grappling system is easily the most polished and best part of the game. If you think it is flawed then you either have not played it or don't have an understanding of how to play 8t effectively. Same goes for a review that gives it a 5. This game is not completely feature rich but it covers the bases and the game play is light years beyond UFC 1.

The devs biggest problem is not having an in depth tutorial on how to play unless you go to the forums. Thus people don't know how to play and cry about things being spammy or op because they don't know what they are doing. And let's be honest, these reviewers rarely are actually good at the games and will get waxed by experienced players. Not a perfect game but easily an 8.

Finding people that actually let a 1v1 play out in dominion is rare and understandable given the circumstances to win. I'll always try to be honorable in 2v2 unless the other team tries to 2v1 my teammate. When that happens honor is thrown out the window and scrubs get knocked off ledges! 👍
