Star Wars Battlefront: Outer Rim Review for the first map pack expansion that adds four new maps on Tatooine and Sullust including the iconic Jabba's Palace. There's also some new weapons and tools along with two iconic new characters.
EB: This week’s new video game releases may look slim based on the list below, but I can assure you that there are a ton of Indie PC games coming out, but because there are so many of them I got lazy and left most of them off of the list. This isn’t a slight towards the games, they’re just very eclectic, so if you’re a fan of an Indie PC game coming out this week, then you probably already know that it is hitting retail.
With that being said there are still a few titles worth looking into. Namely Quantum Break if you’re up for a game that focuses on narrative over shoot ’em up gameplay, but Dirt Rally is also coming out for consoles, and the Outer Rim DLC is releasing for Battlefront.
Skewed and Reviewed have posted some gameplay of the new Outer Rim DLC for EA Star Wars Battlefront. The video set in Jabba's Palace shows the new Evacuation mode as well as Greedo gameplay video.
So instead of giving us characters that we actually care about, they give us Greedo? Come on!
They needed to stretch out the DLC lol; Chewbacca and IG-88 would of been logical choices. Glad I didn't buy this game.
Game is good and they have been giving free content each month. My guess is in 2017 after the last of the DLC sets arrives we will see a set with all 4 DLC packs and the game for 39.99
@Garethvk Still wouldn't buy, combat is simplistic, dull and imbalanced. By 2017 I think there will be a new Battlefront with a different era (clone wars). I don't think EA will launch another battlefront in 2016, since they might be releasing new Titanfall and Battlefield games this year.
Hit detection is ehat gets me. Jam a gun in a player and shoot and they live. 6 shots at a distance they live. yet other times one shot mid range they die, o oneong shot with same gun and they go down. I love mtie grenades and tbey live but ones around them do mot.
I dig the character. Rodian's are pretty played out but he was a unique alien design back in the day.
My big question is the DLC offering 2 maps and a gameplay mode but yetbthey give us new maps and gameplay free each month. Almost like DLC was set and tben they opted to do free updates.

They likely realized there wasn't enough content to keep people interested until the slated dlc release. So in an effort to keep people playing until they can drop paid contents they're doing free updates. Just a guess though.

That's a fair point to worry about. They're putting this Season Pass at TWICE the price of even Titanfall, yet that kept to a simple 3-map-per-pack formula within each one.
I think this one only has two maps. it has Jabba challenges to unlock new guns and a new Evacuation mode. us two Hero characters.
Nice update with level cap 60 and ability to roll for example. The paid dlc is poor though IMO even if I love the game.
Damn, when I see these graphics I so wished they would make a new Jedi Knight or Dark Forces ! Instabuy !
Does the season pass ever go on much of a sale? Or is it best to buy now?
ya the problem with the paid dlc is that its not included in the rotation of other maps in battlefront. Also this game has plenty of smaller scale maps was hoping for bigger 40 player maps since there is only 7 in the game but all we got was small maps pretty disappointing
