7 Videogame Easter Eggs the Devs Never Meant for You to Find

vgPWN:

"For the most part, Easter eggs in videogames are hidden with the express purpose of being discovered. These little inside jokes pay homage to the people, games, and pop culture phenomena that developers enjoy. Finding them is generally a joy, and sharing them even more so."

just asking ...is it true that inside the original Saturn games Fighting Vipers or Fighter Megamix (its one of the two i dont remember which exactly and probably the JP version) there was an unlockable hidden anime porn movie with protagonists the roster of game? ..or it was another hoax of the 90s? ..i cant find any clue in forums or net but that time was sure that some reliable sources had reported it

Never heard of it, probably just an urban legend, but who knows? Anybody has any idea?

Thats new to me.. If you cant find any clues now with how advanced the internet is now, i doubt it.. Who knows though? Anything is possible with people finding secrets in games from the 80s..

No its not true. Also this article is crap. . All these were meant to be found... Hell the halo 3 egg was publicized before the game was out

Also splitting it over so many pages to artificially boost ad impressions is BS

i say the easter egg in GTA Vice City

If they were never meant to be found they would never exist. Games have always had hidden little things like this for the folk who like to break the boundaries of the game and it gives them a little pay off for exploring outside the regular game world. The Zelda one from the list here was clearly intended for folk who would put in the name Zelda. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if people had only ever seen that version of the game as opposed to what everyone else saw cos its the first thing they did.

Some of them might be things that have been left in from developmemt and just hidden away cos it would take more time to remove it from the game completely - Hot Coffee from San Andreas being the prime example.

"Never meant for you to find"

What the hell is this title? Easter Eggs are put there as a surprise for WHEN you find them. Such as the Rooster Teeth cameos!

Title is very click baity:

"7 Videogame Easter Eggs the Devs Never Meant for You to Find"

But in the last easter egg, the writer wrote:

"The developers definitely wanted you to find this room, but they made it extremely hard to do so, to the point where it took over six months for it to be discovered."

It's an interesting article anyway, but desperate at the same time.

Using Elena to play Crash on Uncharted 4 was pretty great.

Saving some trapped aliens in Super Metroid and seeing them escape. Daisy's third eye in Melee. Seeing Mario characters portraits in a window at Hyrule castle. Megaman X using Ryu/Ken's movesets in mutiple entries. Bayonetta cosplaying as Fox McCloud while using an Arwing to kill angels and demons. So many good ones throughout the years.

To me smash brows Melee is my all time favorite. I can't tell you how many hours I played that game between friends and family. When I was a kid, my parents couldn't afford a gaming console so I had to go somewhere that had an arcade like setup with the only difference being instead of arcade cabinets, they had big screen crt TV's and gaming consoles setup. I would go with my friends on special occasions after school or with my family on the weekends.

I would meet and make new friends at that place as we were all gamers and we also brought our game boys and would trade pokemon. I don't think those places exist these days but back then, it was easy to meet like-minded people and have fun for hours.

Well, I’ll add my extremely subjective ranking too. I won’t include the 3DS version as I don’t owned it. I did play it for a few minutes though.

5. Brawl.
4. N64 Smash
3. Ultimate
2. Wiiu Smash
1. Melee

Yup Ultimate for me BY FAR is my favorite.
