A writer for MONG reviews the new Disney Infinity 3.0 Marvel fighting game. Is it a Smash Bros. killer? The next esports sensation?! Hmm...

All in all, Marvel Battlegrounds adds something new and fun to the Disney Infinity 3.0 universe. It’s great to be able to play with your favorite Marvel heroes and villains, together or with friends. The environments and characters all feel right at home and will make a lot of Marvel fans happy. Too bad you can’t enjoy the game online and the story is forgettable. Besides that, Marvel Battlegrounds sure is an interesting new way to enjoy your Disney Infinity 3.0 set.
Mick Fraser: "For a game that sells itself on limitless possibilities, 3.0 doesn’t do enough with the Battlegrounds Playset. Luckily, it’s all good, clean, wholesome Disney fun anyway."
Marvel Battlegrounds is a 4-play 3D Brawler set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The simplest description that I can give for the game is that it’s basically 3D Smash Bros. That is both a good and bad comparison because Battlegrounds does a few things very well even if it’s not quite to the standard of a game like Smash Bros.
If you have 3 or 4 people to play with, this is a great party game. It's less than $20, not counting the DLC (figures). He fails to mention the Challenge mode, and the fact you earn DI currency and can upgrade your Marvel characters via this playset.
I wish they'd release a DLC that included ALL the Infinity characters from 1.0 to 3.0! That would be awesome!
