Now that we know the pricing and specs for Sony's HMD, how does it compare to the Rift? CheatCC puts these two VR juggernauts head-to-head to see how they stack up.
The Polish studio behind Bulletstorm and Outriders confirms plans to phase out its VR publishing activities.
Holger Frydrych has just released a cool VR Mod for the 2007 version of Crytek's first-person shooter, Crysis.
Playing it right now looks amazing! :D
so much fun, i hope they make a vr mod for crysis 2 / 3 too!
This is amazing. This is the direction VR should go in to boost adoption. Since I have beaten every Crysis except 1, this is now a good excuse to correct that problem.
Most people may associate VR games with active titles, but Triangle Strategy on the Meta Quest offers a welcome sort of solace.
PSVR will be by itself in the realm of console VR. OR, Vive and a few others will be duking it out on the PC side. But in all honesty I see the PC side having a more harmonious environment. Meaning there will be potentially more gamers using these devices in various multiplayer ways. Or and Vive (among others) gaming together on systems of varying CPU grades and memory amounts.
While on the console side you have just one player... sony. That is unless someone comes along and makes a universal HMD for both PS4 and XB1. then both camps can use VR to play together in multiplayer games thanks to PSN / XBL (potentially) playing nice together.
Ms doesn't really have a VR solution and I don't know if they are working on one. But they are ready for one should there be one available, meaning the kinect camera would be required so they got that part covered.
Hardware: Advantage Rift
"Look, Sony has come right out and said it: the PlayStation VR isn't as powerful as the Oculus Rift. With PS VR, we'll be looking at a single OLED display, 1920x1080 resolution, with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The Rift features an OLED display for each eye, cranking out visuals at a resolution of 2160x1200, and even the minimum spec PCs powering this thing are going to be capable of more than what the PlayStation 4 can handle."
Since I already have a VR ready PC rig and a PS4, it is a no brainer for me to choose the Rift if I were to choose a VR device in the future. Better hardware and spec.
For the majority of the population though that don't have a PC ready gaming Rig, PSVR is their only option and it should be fine just like many games that are on both console and PC today like COD, Battlefront, SFV and Quantum Break where the majority play on consoles. Nothing wrong with that.
less than 1% have a pc powerfull enough to to do VR you figure out who's gonna sell the most....
My pc just barely meets specs i have a r9 290 so that's bottom side of the specs.
but i also have a ps4.
i've tried all 3 vive oculus and psvr, it's definatly ps vr for me did not notice any major difference in quality of graphics in the games i played: London heist, portal thingy on the vive, some racer on the rift.
the vive did look a bit sharper but both rift and vive were bad experiences because they were forcing my glasses to dig into my nose bridge, and guess what PS VR didn't even touch my glasses.
Also, have you seen the minimum room requirement for VIVE not too many people will have that
Oculus hands down beats PSVR that is fact due to the specs and will be able to perform more.
Sony did the right thing they provided good affordable entertainment (or extended entertainment for the Playstation 4) for everyone.
Outward Oculus looks flimsy made in appearance to PSVR. Look at that pic. The guy in need of a shave. Looks like he going diving.
