Drake’s Decision | Which Is The Best Uncharted?

The Uncharted series began pretty much a full year after the PS3 had gotten off to its, somewhat shaky, start but quickly found its audience and currently holds a Metacritic score of 88/100.

At the time, it felt like a refreshing re-focus for the action-adventure series. Several years of indifference towards the Tomb Raider series had left gamers feeling disengaged from the genre, before its widely well-received reboot in 2013.

Drake’s Fortune turned things around with a new, likeable, lead character and an engaging story which brought all the other excellent aspects of the series together. Uncharted is one of the finest examples of “greater than the sum of its parts”. If you break it down, everything about it is just fine, but when it’s all joined together, it flows into one fantastically enjoyable, superbly written, supremely acted and good-looking game.

1St one has the best Story and twist
2nd has the best characters and multiplayer

3rd has the best set pieces
GA has the best gameplay

The original Uncharted game was a pretty good start, but you knew the series had more potential. Uncharted 3 is an over hyped mess of a game that tries to recapture the magic of Uncharted 2, but never quite gets there. So yes, Uncharted 2 is the best Uncharted game.

Uncharted 2 for me. 2 took the set pieces to the next level. Great story as well. 3 just felt like more of the same

They are all excellent.

But my favorite is 3. It had insane set pieces, graphics, and moments where I was holding back tears. My second favorite is part 1 because it introduced me to the characters. It was epic playing it. It's weird to say "least favorite," but part 2 is my least favorite of the trilogy. It's still an amazing game, but I was disappointed that it basically had the same story as the first game (adventuring, then a late-game supernatural enemy).

Wow I thought everyone was going to say uncharted 2 but alot of uncharted 1 and 3 fans in here. I still haven't beat 3 or golden abyss so I can't speak on those but 1 and 2 were good and between those I say uncharted 2.

Uncharted 2 bc it was the total package IMO Great single player and a awesome multiplayer but i have a feeling Uncharted 4 will be the best one of the series!!

Challenge - last third of part 3 and all of part 1
Puzzles - part 3 definitely. Part 2's were a bit hackneyed- huge rooms for no believable reason.
Graphics - part 2 because of the sharpness of it, the urban environments making a good contrast. Part 3 does good sea but, overall, part 2's art design feels more unique.
Story - part 2
Villain - part 2
Heroes - part 3
Stunts- part 3 does have more than part 2. Part 2's feel more natural. I give this to part 2.

Playing through the Nathan Drake collection now, and I'm kinda let down to be honest. Gameplay is too linear and repetitive, and gets boring quickly.

Or maybe it's because I just came off playing the brilliant Bloodborne and this pales by comparison.

UC2 for me, the graphics were great, the gameplay was spot on and the story was quite engaging. Just the best all round really.

The only thing that spoiled it was the guardians at the end, they were quite annoying. A lot of people say they hated the final boss battle but I thought he was pretty good.

Hard choice between UC2 and UC1 if i just consider stories but best all around package is Uncharted 2 by far and away.

Still love the twist in the orginal... Just so well done.

Before I played the Nathan Drake collection and ran through them all one after the other my list would've been:

But now it's:

1. U3

I enjoyed Uncharted 3 so much more the second time going through it and you really notice the gameplay improvements from the second one.
