Best gaming PC (in 2016)

"Gaming on PC is the only way to get the very best versions of multiplatform games because - unlike a console - PCs can be upgraded, piece by piece, to keep them up to speed with the latest technology. And it's also true, without question, that it's cheaper to buy the components that make up a great gaming PC and put them together yourself, instead of buying a pre-built rig off the shelf. But that does require time and effort. So if you're looking to get into PC gaming and just want to buy a great rig that will play the best games at their best settings, you could do a lot worse than any of the following. There isn't actually such thing as the ultimate gaming PC as theer are so many variables. However, we've got some US options and some UK (so look for the headers below) to suit different budgets. But let's start with something that you can buy in either territory."By Justin Towell

I would avoid cyberpower, heard bad things about them. Like the author says its better to go custom. These companies like to throw in bad parts hard drives and PSUs. Use pcpartpicker and tomshardware for help picking parts. Make sure you have a budget, what you will use PC for, games you play, if you need any peripherals like keyboard/mouse, monitors, and more. Its a lot easier these days but if you're still too afraid or lazy to do it yourself you can always have a computer shop do it for you.

I got a custom build for a great deal from Ibuypower last December with a I76700k cpu and full tower case and just upgraded a few parts from pcpartpicker and it's going strong with my GTX980. Looking forward to the GTX 1080 in May 2016.

The best thing about building your own PC is that you, yourself, can guarantee that you're PC will be shovelware and/or bloatware free*.

*(except for what comes with the OS you install on it)

"Gaming on PC is the only way to get the very best versions of multiplatform games" - interesting logic...

If Higher resolution, refresh rates etc are the only things you're after then yes PC is most definitely best platform for you - please don't speak for the rest of us.

For me the best version of many of my games is the version I can play with my mates, as none of them have gaming PC's id say that version is pretty pointless for me.

I don't dislike PC gaming and have built a fair few gaming rigs in the past, it just annoys me when people state opinion as fact.

Agreed. In a technical sense yes, the PC version should be the best version, but that is basically ignoring the team that is developing that version ie Arkham Knight lolz.

The best version of any game is something that varies, its not a hard fact ,as again....someone simply can say Arkham Knight to throw a wrench into that little theory.
