Add the first two Dissidia games as well. Those two would be a nice Package on PS4 before the new Dissidia gets ported.

Crisis Core "HD" would be a great title a few months before the FFVII Remake's first game/chapter is released.

No i really hope NO...Crisis Core was an excellent game for PSP (with the best FFVII redisigned chars) but its Emo (borrwoed from movie) plot literally destroyed the feeling and atmospher of the original FFVII, which had many elements from the good old SNES JRpg era

Well..we have 2016, not the nineties anymore.

The thing which bugs me is that for the main remake they said how they are going to be adding new stuff and the like which is why they are expanding it into more games despite the fact they could just add the core stuff in the main game to fit it within the one release.

Least then for the sequel, if they wanted more games, they could remake Crises Core and the like.

So I don't see why they are trying to justify multiple FF7 remake games by going "Oh we'll be adding brand new stuff" when they could just do the core content and then remake Crises Core. You're still making more games, it just means you don't look like you are trying to exploit that one game and look greedy

Then you have FF8 and FF9 since...well you know, it's only fair fans of that get a remake.

If the upcoming FFVII Remake lasts me for a 100 hours of great content then by all means they should make a sequel to expand the universe.

I am gonna be honest with you my friend, i really wish Square could have made a true sequel to some of its games, especially FFXII. I mean SKY PIRATES! how cool would that have been if they expanded the sequel with Fran and Balthier being badass Sky Pirates.

Getting the gang back together again for another awesome adventure.

I wouldn't mind a sequel if its done right. And if there is one thing that Nomura excels at, its sequels.

He is one of the very few developers that makes me go nuts when announcing a sequel.

I will never forget the day Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced. I was speechless.

Yeah but I'd rather they give us a "100 hour" game which is the core content THEN do a sequel with new bits and bobs.

It would allow FF7 fans to have the remake they've longed years for but not have to experience it in 3 separate parts. You'd want to travel everywhere in one go right? If the story was cut into three sections then it wouldn't matter how long you'd get in one game the point is you won't be able to travel everywhere on the map. The freedom will feel limiting and that's why many people fell in love with FF7 in the first place.

Their priorities should be on the core game bit by bit and then do any expansions in a sequel.

"I am gonna be honest with you my friend, i really wish Square could have made a true sequel to some of its games, especially FFXII"

It's not that I wouldn't want it, I would just prefer a FF8/FF9 remake first...or even a sequel.

I mean the FF8 is ripe for a sequel especially if they took into consideration the Rinoa-Ultimecia fan theory. The little hints are too much, hell even in the recent Dissidia games Ultimecia has three weapons Valkyrie, Cardinal and Shooting Star...who else has those weapons? Oh yeah only Rinoa in FF8. Why would you do that? I mean people have apparently said Square debunked this theory but I've looked and looked and ever saw a official statement, just a he said-she said deal.

I mean with that theory in a sequel how do you stop something which is going to happen? It's fixed within time. This would branch the story off into the multiverse theory since the first game was time travel based. Then you can have a prequel game with Laguna, Kiros and Ward leading up to the Sorceress War in Esthar and how he became President.

I'm not entirely sure it's possible to deliver the old game remade on a single disc. Even if they went a multiple disc route, how long and how expensive would it be to remake the entire game and release it all at once on three discs? Then imagine you're Square and just having spent hundreds of millions on a three disc game with cutting edge visuals and then being forced to charge only $60 per copy?

I'm not saying three separate installments of the main game is the best approach. Really though it's the only option I can think of where the fans get what they want, the full Final Fantasy VII franchise experience in a timely fashion, and Square gets to make some amount of money.

I think a lot of negativity surround this plan comes from just the retched stigma of big publishers and the fact we need to trust they won't go greedy and cut content or hide it or abuse their fan base. It's terrible we live in such a time of distrust, but the reality is we just have to wait and see. If SquareEnix botches this completely, then they will have lost any shred of consumer confidence they may have had. Or worse, the fans could just roll over and accept the abuse and defend them for the favor. Unfortunately, only time can tell.

Crisis Core was such a good game.

MeteorPanda2956d ago

l hope they implement crisis core into the remake ff7. Imagine recruiting the rogue Genesis? it would work, the ff7 party doesn't have a real 'black mage' class - the sidequest to recruit him is already there - he'd fit.

also l wish they remastered it just so l could play it again, what with that current copyright bs they have with the current version.

such a good game.

Crisis Core was the best thing in the entire Compilation of FFVII followed by Advent Children.

It would be nice if they remastered Crisis Core. It would get more people familiar with the lore and more people used to the idea of an action-RPG FFVII game.

I would also like to see FFXII get the remaster treatment as well. It's the only mainline game that hasn't been officially rereleased on another platform.

I think Tifa is better than both of them if you know what I mean 😏

GoodGuy09463d ago

Both are great. Zack was the reason how Cloud became who he is, is just a really fun character and had to go through a ton of struggle so I do rate him a bit higher. Can't wait for the two to perhaps fight with or against eachother in the next part or two in the remake games.

Brazz463d ago (Edited 463d ago )

Cloud game is better, but i prefer Zack as protagonist.
