Naturally. 😎 PS4 is unstoppable!

Now that Phil Spencer has revealed an Xbox One Plus is coming I think many potential XBO buyers will hold off making a purchase until E3 in June to see if that Is when it's revealed.

I imagine anybody buying the current model will be disappointed if days later a spec-bump version is released. I definitely want to get one but will wait for the newer model.

Sparta072757d ago (Edited 2757d ago )

When did he revealed an xbox plus?
He even said there is no upgradable xbox coming. Just these journalist make stuff up and people here buying into it. All he said was he would like to see backward compatible and forward compatible.
or are you just making up excuses?

Congrats to sony. I know we are months away but I can't wait for e3

GameDev12757d ago (Edited 2757d ago )

Xbox slim yes, but Xbox one plus, really? are you people still talking about this thing that you have totally misquoted Phil spencer saying

Phil spencer talking about an upgraded Xbox is more likely him saying Xbox One as a service on Windows 10 pc, which is already happening

An Xbox one plus would destroy a reason to release a console to a mass market like they want and also make things hard for developers, publishers, customers as you would have two different type of Xbox One on the market. There would be so much money loss on existing Xbox one stock and trouble involved

This is like the Cloud DX12 Xbox One more powerful console thing all over again

PS4 is just the more popular console(and for good reason).

Stop making excuses

@Sparta07. To clarify... of course there hasn't been an official reveal. But at the Windows/Xbox Spring event and on the podcast with Major Nelson last week, he pretty much gave the game away about a spec-bump model. Nothing definite - but it's coming. Let's talk straight after Microsoft's E3 conference!

Good for Sony they have surpassed all sales expectations this gen.

Yea, and what were the excuses for the last 12 months.

-They waited for the price drop.

-Wait for the 2015 holiday games.

-Wait for E3.

"Xbox Plus" has not been officially announced, but it wouldn't hold off thousands and thousands of buyers.

Just admit it...when people think upgrade, they think PS4 or PC.

And wait a minute! Windows/Xbox Spring Event?
Something that was talked about in March effected people's thoughts in February?

LOL Too hilarious...

NovaCorps2757d ago

wake up stop finding excuses for the xbox
there is absolutely no more reason to buy one
quantum break, scalebound, flopza horizon 3 all going to pc,rumors goes for gears 4 too

you got a pc ? then no need for an xbox

LastcenuryRob2757d ago

Even if that was the case he also stated that the X1 will be up-gradable in some way.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen2757d ago

@Mr Pumblechook

Is it fun just making stuff up?

BG115792757d ago

Even if MS upgrades the console will it be worth buying it if the exclusives games are not so exclusive and coming to the PC?
Answer is, we don't now yet, but changing the console may be irrelevant.

bouzebbal2757d ago (Edited 2757d ago )

People have been holding off since day one for xbox+ lol

IamTylerDurden12756d ago

The reason PS4 won is bc it's the best console, not bc of some ridiculous unfounded rumor of an xbone+. I honestly can't see xbone winning any month the rest of the gen. Especially with all the closings and bad publicity.

Congratulations Sony, with games like Salt & Sanctuary, Ratchet & Clank, Uncharted 4, Enter the Gungeon, and Alienation right around the corner i couldn't be more excited. Even Stories Path of Destinies looks good, Darkest Dungeon, Invisible inc, Dead Star.

bouzebbal2756d ago

February? but what games came out in february?
This console keeps surprising me.
When i see that the heavy hitters still didn't come out (uncharted, GT, God of War, ...)

The PS4 is going to have a humongous year, can't wait to see the sales numbers after Uncharted 4 launches

Congrats to Sony for being the #1 console and even topping their sales last February

Overload2757d ago

Going into the summer the PS4 is going to be on fire with Uncharted 4 and No Man's Sky launching back to back.

UltraNova2757d ago

It looks like R&C will make a considerable splash as well.

Microsoft PR:
"The unmatched lineup of games available on Xbox One continues to generate a strong response from gamers as seen through global Xbox Live engagement and exclusive game sales. Compared to February 2015, exclusive Xbox One U.S. game sales drove a 49 percent increase and the total number of hours spent gaming on Xbox One worldwide rose 93 percent. Earlier this week, we launched the Xbox One ‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ Bundle to coincide with Ubisoft’s release of ‘Tom Clancy’s The Division’ and looking ahead to this spring, fans can look forward to the upcoming release of the highly-anticipated ‘Quantum Break,’ launching on both Xbox One and Windows 10 on April 5, as well as the built-for-Windows 10 visual showcase, ‘Forza Motorsport 6: Apex.’ We are truly grateful to our fans for choosing to play the greatest games lineup in Xbox history across Windows 10 devices, and are excited to share more in the coming months on our full lineup of holiday exclusives as well as new innovations, features and experiences coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 and Xbox Live.” – Mike Nichols, Corporate Vice President, Xbox Marketing, Microsoft

Kind of awkward to be talking about Holiday exclusives in March.

Eonjay2757d ago

This PR statement says it all. A strong pivot to PC and no mention of hardware whatsoever. Windows 10 is all up in this PR.

Overload2757d ago

Yeah, it mentions Windows 10 quite frequently.

"We are truly grateful to our fans for choosing to play the greatest games lineup in Xbox history across Windows 10 devices"

This stands out the most. They threw the Xbox into Windows 10 pretty hard in that comment.

MasterCornholio2757d ago

No mention of increased hardware\software sales YOY.

Am I reading this right?

It appears that all they are announcing are MAUs.

IamTylerDurden12756d ago

The greatest games lineup rhetoric is tiresome, even xbox fans can see through the bs. They need to stop.

Christopher2757d ago

Really not all that newsworthy anymore. But, I guess you keep marketing what you can since if you stop, people will forget that these numbers matter.

Eonjay2756d ago

Well, the NPD group stated that the industry is worth 99.3 billion. There are a lot of people involved, down to the consumers and its interesting to get information on the market we have all invested in. And since there is so much money involved, it most certainly is newsworthy. And even though the revenue is down YoY, I helped to contribute to some of the figures on the charts and I take pride in that. :)

343_Guilty_Spark2757d ago

Sorry to burst your bubble but he is most definitely talking about Xbox One hardware refreshes.

LastcenuryRob2757d ago

Sure looks that way...Still don't see why, but that's how it is.

Overload2757d ago (Edited 2757d ago )

The Xbox One tanked.

Hardware was down 23% YOY, but the PS4 was up YOY.

The PS4 is around 405,000 and did 56% of hardware sales between the PS4 (405,000), Xbox One (249,000) and Wii U (70,000).

PS4 is going beast mode, becoming Pac-Man.

Far Cry Primal is selling better than Far Cry 4. Street Fighter 5 bombed, it did 210,000 and sold less than the PS4 version of Naruto, which sold 2x as much as the Xbox One version of Naruto.

butchertroll2756d ago

SFV could have been worse in TOP 1. In the end, it's not so bad. But not good also.
